One way that I find out what's going on in the areas I live like LA with land is by reading http://la.curbed.com. The site reads in part: "About Curbed LA. From the studio lots to the downtown lofts. From the beachfront bungalows to the canyon views. From the south bay to the valley, from the westside to the eastside—Angelenos' sense of place, and the neighborhoods they call home, are more important than ever."It's a great way to keep an eye out what's going where, when and how's behind it.
The online home tells when things may be torn down, what's on the construction docket and what the next conversion is slated to be.
On the same premise, you can go to http://la.eater.comand find out about what restaurant plans are on the table. You can get the dish on who's the one cooking up the idea or bringing the success to LA. This image shows the new Murano Restaurant with White Party's creator, Jeffrey Sanker. It's a super way to stay in the know. (Check out THIS PinkBerry entry exactly a month after my own.)
Actually, I love finding out about new real estate and what's new in town. (Can you tell from my CroBar entry?)
