"Where's the Cents?"

The rules are changing.

I think most people have heard of the banking company called ING. Here's an ad that would look familiar around LA. ING is a mainly internet banking operation that extends its operations into the United States.
ING's home is the Netherlands. It's a Dutch company. You can see clear evidence of that on it's webpage. http://www.ing.com/group/index.jsp It's even translated into two languages, Dutch and English. (It's a good thing to know your market, huh?)
Of course, when you introduce a business into the stream of commerce in the US, you have a US licence, so the banks US headquarters is in Wilmington, Deleware. ...right along most other banks headquarters due to the fact that Delaware is the only state that has no cap on the interest rate it can charge customers.
While the rules of the bank are so favorable they don't have physcial branches you can go into. ...that is they don't have bank tellers like a traditional bank, they do have "branches" disguised as cafe's and shops with seminars on how to manage your funds online, in the mail and over the phone.
It's quite fabulous is you ask me. It's like a James Bond movie available in real life.

Many adult businesses have it's main deposit account housed in a Dutch company. It's a secret to good business.

It's no secret that the big porn companies (...and big escorts.) use internet servers, banks and other record keeping outlets in other countries to keep their company, it's assets and it's records safe and in compliance with the law. Technically speaking the laws of the place where the server is housed, the records are kept, or the money is deposited is what applies.

Heck, if you ask me, I hardly make anything worth putting in a bank. *wink*
If you ask most of my friends, that's one thing I don't like to talk about in my personal life is money. "The only reason I have money is because people say I have to have it."

First it was when PayPal stopped taking transactions for much of it's adult business.
It's a constant battle with a bank when you identify your business as adult. It puts you into a "high-risk" category and it becomes harder to fight chargebacks on credit cards.
Now it looks like it's getting rougher overseas to manage adult industry money. Some of the banking centers don't want to take the money.

Okay, hence my blog title, "Where's the cents in that?" ...that's alot of money the adult industry throws around.

Just like we play word games not knowing on the phone if a caller is a potential client or a potential police, the game involving money is just as important. Especially in the adult industry, you want to make sure your money is protected.
