Popeyes Chicken and Al Copeland

I enjoyed reading all about Popeye's Chicken and the owner, Al Copeland, who recently died and was a New Orleans native.

I know some of the old style Popeyes building that is pictured here that were/are in the New Orleans area still.

The Crazy Lunch Story

I went to the El Pollo Loco (The Crazy Chicken) near my office for lunch today.

I had a salad, soup and two chicken soft tacos. YUM! (Rusty would kill me, he's trying to get me to eat helthier.) See how well it's working?

The tacos were so good. They are new so if you like Mexican and chicken tacos, these are more yummy than the ones I have had at Taco Bell or any other fast food Mexican chain.

The salad was so good today, the cool lettuce really was a treat. I think it's the cilantro that makes me so happy.

The soup is so flavorful. I like that and that it is kind of spicy. The soup Nazi here would say, "No bland soup for you!"

When I went to pour a drink for Scott who went with me to the lunch experience things got hectic. First he gave said he wanted iced tea and diet lemondae. Okay, it's a drink. That's so complicated. Then, I went to pour the diet lemonade and only water came out. I thought, "Man, they take this diet things seriously." I mean, I think that's pushing it too far. Diet lemonade can taste like water at times, but man, what a joke. *wink* I think they forgot to fill the syrup so only water came out, not water and lemonade syrup like what was supposed to.
