Last night Fabrice and I went to dinner and a movie. It was kinda like a impromptu date.We ate at the Cheesecake Factory at 'The Grove' in Hollywood before we went to see the movie we hadn't even agreed on yet. After a few moments of purposefully causing a little scene about which movie we were going to see, we took a pamphlet of the NOW SHOWING movies and went to dine.
When we went to put in our name for a table, the hostess said it would be about 40 minutes so we went to sit at the bar and have a "Lemon Drop Martini." (They make them so well there.)We ended up sitting next to this older yet well taken care of lady who was all decked out in a sequined gown, complete with a silver glitter flower in her hair. As I sat down, I seriously thought, "Whoa did I step back into the 20's?" She looked like a flapper. She was FABULOUS! It turns out, she was over at "Dancing with the Stars" at the ABC Studios right around the corner a few moments before and she was sad because the Gloria Estefan number took so long, that she didn't get to do her number on stage. She rehearsed and made up the routine herself. Sure enough, as we watched the show on the TV at the bar, she was there in the audience clapping and flapping away. She was ADORABLE! I didn't eat much of my shrimp and bacon club, but I ate her up. It turns out, I Google-ed her when I got home and she was a big 70's star with some appearances on Hawaii Five-O and some other things. I love Hollywood. She invited Fabrice and I to a ballroom dancing thing she does one a month. If she calls, I am so there.
Fabrice and I went over to the Grove Theater, located only steps from Abercombie and Fitch. As you can see by this camera phone photo The Grove Christmas Tree is up the mood is certainly there. ...AND IT'S NOT EVEN THANKSGIVING! It's the first movie just he and I went to see since we have dating over 7 months now. ...that's crazy.
We went into to see "Bee Movie" with the other 6 people in the theater. Do they even make money that way?
The flick was even more adorable then the lady we sat next to at dinner.
I am so gay, I cried at the end when it worked out. It was so cute. I certainly didn't miss out on that denim, I mean jean, I mean gay gene.
I know this is a "family movie" and should theoretically appeal to kids more but there is so much adult humor and HILARIOUS aspects of it that only an adult can catch. (...that's why I missed most of it.) *wink*
Fabrice and I both commented that we wonder how many more kids are doing to be nice to bees this next summer. ...and that hospitals should be ready for more stings when kids try to get the bees to talk to them and help them save the world. YIKE!
...but you know what, the most adorable thing was that it was with Fabrice. I know he gets frustrated because I always have people around me for everything. I need it that way. I don't do many things with just him. I am glad we did that quick night out and spent some time just him and I. He's the most adorable thing of the night.
