Who the hell created 'Daylight Saving Time?' I want to beat them. I read on www.Wikipedia.com to find out. Benjamin Franklin gets some of the credit.Last week I mistakenly said, "Daylight SavingS (...with an S the other day.) and Rusty or Angel had a fit and told me there is no S. He was right.
I don't like the the government can just create and rearrange time. (If they can do that, can I put in for a couple extra hours, please?)Last year, President Bush signed a bill that changed the rules. What makes it even crazier is that the regulation allows for areas of the country not to observe it and that's just peachy. (...FOR WHO IS IT PEACHY? NOT ME.) So let me get this straight, while I might be in one place that it's one time, travel through two times zones, the last area might not have approved the change new time rules and I have a whole different time. No thank you.
Last night, I think time changed. I mean, the new "Daylight Saving Time" rules went into effect. Maybe. I don't know. Some of my clocks changed at home by themselves like the computer. I don't know if the cable TV did. My phone went to some screen that I have never seen and I think it had the correct time. I don't even know any more.I just left my alarm clock on my bed for whatever time I wanted. It's Brandon-light Saving Time. I don't think I am going to change it.
Sunday, which I think was yesterday, I was going to lunch with Tom and the cute boy from Popular! (...who of course, Andy "knows". Well.) and Tom called me to remind me. When he called and I thought I had an hour left to get ready, nope, when he called he was at the door. Ooops. He was on time. I was stuck in time.
I have one slogan for Brandon Baker that I use that reads, "It's About Time." I meant that because it IS all about time. Legally, when we talk it's about time. I want it to be about the time we spend together too, I try to give an experience that is satisfying in as many ways as I can make it. In an hour, I want to make clients feel that it really did count. Know what I mean. When I say, "It's about time now." I mean, maybe I am talking about the right time."Alright, please, it should come as no surprise that I have enough problems with time. Getting places on time, leaving places on time, having enough time, spending too much time, hell, I have enough issues getting out of bed IN time. Jeeesh...
This is not going to be pretty. ...just ask the airlines. (No don't, they have enough to do.) Can you imagine what it is going to be like for them? What about kids waiting for the bus? YIKE! Predators, take your marks.
On the other hand, I get to play outside for longer in the light.
...and I see now too that the "saving" in "Daylight Saving Time" refers to energy too, for the most part. We will save lots of energy turning off lights and other energy using stuff earlier.
Seriously, I am confused enough, now at least I have an extra hour to figure this all out.
I figure the best thing for me to do at this point in time is go to www.time.gov if I REALLY need to figure out what time it is.
The next best thing is to look at my cell phone. I figure Sprint is a multi-million dollar company, even though their customer service is run like it costs too much money to get someone to answer the phone, they probably have a technologically sound system to make sure the time is correct on my phone. I mean, I do pay an awful lot for that to be the wrong time.
The next best thing is to stick my finger in the wind, look at the sun and make an assessment of the hour.
