How can two cartoon characters present an award?
It seems like Joe Phillips recorded the two having a conversation and played it when it was that awards turn on the screen above the podium. Stonewall and Riot announced the nomination for the best animated something. (I don't recall exactly what it was called as far as the category, I was so enamored.)
The tropy boys announced the actual winner.
It was such a novel and cute idea. "Way to go!"
...but not novel that the next night, the Oscars this year did the same thing.When the award for "Animated Feature Film" was up, they edited the animated characters in the audience. It was really neat. For example, when they announced "Cars" it appeared that the two main character cards were at the Kodak theater. When they announced "Monster House" the kids that were created in the film were shown in chairs at the Oscar awards. HOT!
What was even cuter was that when the kids from "Monster House" did not win and "Happy Feet" did, the kids gave a sulk and clapped with sarcasm. Friggin' FABULOUS!
It seems the animated characters made quite an impression.
