Boy of the Moment - Zac Efron

...that's so a fake photo, but it's hot nonetheless.

I "Twitter-ed" it, but I watched part of "High School Musical" on the airplane, and man, Zac Efron is HOT! HOT! HOT!

Cell Phone Downtime

...something is up with my cell phone. ARGH!
I know this photo is not of a cell phone, but it serves the purpose of showing a broken communication device.
It's not connecting and downloading messages or connecting with the phone service.
It's kind of working, but not really.
I'll try to take it into Sprint today or tomrorow, but it's a hectic schedule.
I keep checking my voicemail, so if you leave me one, I will call you back.
I get so frustrated that I depend on my cell phone so much. Yuck.

Mardi Gras Garbage

If you are not from New Orleans, this may sound strange, but one of the ways the city used to measure the success of a parade and Mardi Gras as a whole is to measure the garbage picked up after the celebration rolls though.
Times have changed and it's no longer officially the way, but the theory remains.

Everyone is asking how Mardi Gras and New Orleans are doing after the hurricane and according to many reports, this year it was a success.

Some reports cite as many as twice as many (...from 25 to 50) trucks were needed this year.
However, if I wanted numbers to be up, I could report that too. I'd use smaller trucks. See what I mean?

Plus, this year, the garbage is privatized. ...that tends to skew things too if you ask me.

All in all, there was a pre-hurricane feel to this years celebration.

Boy of the Moment - BRandom Boys

Family Photos

During Mardi Gras I was able to spend some time with my family and take some family photos.
My brother, his wife and my new nephew (It's strange to be called "Uncle.") came from Lafayette, LA and joined my mom and dad (...and their dog.) so that my mom would have some photos of all of together.
One of the ladies from church took some nice photos of everyone.
This photo is kind of a "behind the scenes" photo that I took of everyone getting ready.

My brother had a belt buckle that was so big. I teased him and when he said something, I said, "I can't hear you over your belt buckle." He's so country, it's hilarious at times that we are even related.

I also took a photo of the Mardi Gras tree. Many people have a variation of the Christmas tree for Mardi Gras is such a festive time in the city.

Mardi Gras 2009 Photos II - Around New Orleans

Here are some photos from around New Orleans and the French Quarter I took one day while I was waiting for the boys to join me at lunch.

Mardi Gras 2009 Photos I

Here are some of my first Mardi Gras photos. I have quite a few more that I will upload shortly.

We returned last night and I have to be in the office today. Not only is that a pressing matter of time, but my plans are to be out of the Los Angeles office and into Las Vegas on Monday, so I still have lots of packing in my office to do.

It was a wonderful trip. I had to much fun, was with wonderful people, spent time with my family, enjoyed New Orleans and had one of the best times ever! YEA!

Cool Mastercard Commercial

I saw this commercial today and seriously, it made me so happy. I love it. It was so fierce. I mean - SO FIERCE! ...this is of my new favorite commercial.

I love collaborations of things like this with characters from so many places and companies. YEA!
The message behind this is a good one too. YEA for that too.

Down AKA Kilo - Lean Like A Cholo

What. Is. This? I don't exactly know, but I think I like it.

KEKE STORY ( SLIDE SHOW )

Everyone asks us about KeKe. As much as I need to remember that Mardi Gras is not a holiday in the rest of the world, I need to remember that not everyone knows about KeKe. Well, after this, you will know how she started and became KeKe. (Well, sorta.)

Digital Camera Upgrade

I am retiring my digital camera.

The camera I have been using for ages, since about 2005 I think, only opens half the time, so I find myself finding excuses not to take photos and that's not fair. (I mean, I need them for my memory, not because I want to share them or anything. I blog so that I have a search field in my memory. It's a beautiful thing.)
The camera has actually served very well in it's day and has been through alot, including a time when I threw it at Rusty's head in New Orleans at the W Hotel because I was upset at him. I am giving it a gracious and thankful ceremony of service. It's not out of service, but I get so frustrated and find every excuse not to use it when it only works half the time. (Wait, that sounds like me. Uh-oh.)

Today, my friend who gave me a generous gift card to use at 'Best Buy' (Thank you very much!) can see it go to good use for a long time ahead now. *wink*
This evening, Rusty and I went and I purchased a Cannon camera that does not have a touch screen and works just as well and is a GREAT size to always have with me. YEA!
It's a pretty blue color too. Fierce.

I did get the "accidental" warranty they offered as hard as I am on camera equipment, so that it's covered when, not if, when something crazy happens and I have another outrageous story to tell you of how it broke and is soaked in a liquor.

I really miss one of the first purchases I made with my hard earned (I mean that. I earned the money while I was hard.) money from my first porn shoot. The camera to the right, was one my best electronic purchases. I miss that durable camera. now that camera should have been made by Tonka. (I still have it, but something is broken on the screen.) It looks like it was $251.99 new which sounds about right.

The mega-pixels are not as high as Lisa's new 14 mega-pixel camera or something like that, but seriously, most if not all of what I shoot as content is for the web and a very candid placement so I am way ahead of my game at this point. It's hard enough for me to get them online within the same decade right? ARGH!

If you don't get the picture, that's okay, you will shortly. *wink*

Fixed Yellow Font

I am sorry about the yellow font on my blog, I don't know how that happened, but I agree it was hard to read.
I think I fixed it tonight while I am finishing up dinner with parents.
I'll keep an eye on it too. (...someone better keep an eye on me though.) *wink*

I thought I would come up with something clever like that it was piss related since it was yellow, but I am running out of clever things to say tonight. ...and besides that, all the yellow jokes are being used up with the purple, green and gold of Mardi Gras. DOH!

Camera Phone Photos 21Feb09

I am at the first hotel getting ready to check out and hijacking the last of the internet I have on the room before I head over the lake to my parents.

Here are a few photos from my camera phone that I wanted to share.

This isn't from New Orleans, it's from Hollywood. Melrose Ave. actually, it's a funny sign that I saw the other day. IT says, "Sleep with me, I'm on Sale." and was for a furnishings outfit or interior design place, I can't remember. I thought that was cool.

Now you have some "R&R." Roxy and Rusty were asleep at the hotel.

Here is what Hollywood Blvd. looks like as it's closed in front of the Kodak Theater for the Oscar preparation the other day. It didn't help me in my route home, but it's neat that the city allows such a thing. YEA!

Now here's New Orleans. Here is a building that I think is beautiful as I walking to a friends house yesterday to catch up.
It was so crazy because I was at his same apartment years ago when I tricked with these two boys. It was so strange to be back in the same apartment with someone else. It's a small world, I tell you.

I went to lunch by myself when we landed. Rusty was too tired and went to sleep. I was so thrilled to be back home, I went to one of my favorite places, Mona Lisa Cafe', and had a calzone and Praline cheesecake. YUM!

I plan on taking more photos with the an actual camera to share more of the weekend with you.

Have a good weekend and whatever you are doing, throw in some purple, green and gold for me. *wink*
