I WONDER?
Treasure Island Buffet
We decided to go to the buffett at Treasure Island called "Dishes."
They had square plates.
The food line has a pasta station, a made-to-order salad bar and a great lunch selection that made my tastebuds jingle.
As I was leaving the food line I turned and to my utter amazement a dessert section that can only be supplied by God himself stared back at me.
Real ice cream topped with Oreos and Reeces Pieces adorned my festive plate...
Fruit tarts that are fruitier than most of my friends...
A cheesecake extravaganza...
...and chocolate covered things like I could be Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
...and get this - cotton candy. YUM!
Canoli's, chocolate malted milk balls, AHHH!
A thumbs up, bellies full, and wallets okay recomendation from BB and AK with special guest star Lisa.

Rocks, Stones
I was driving home down Santa Monica and saw Eddie Stone crossing the street.
It was like a porn celebrity sighting.
It was more humorous because of Brad Rock coming by earlier.
Why is that funny?
I wonder if I can get any other earthly names to cross my path. Preferably with a name like Grass or Sticks. Boulder maybe?

Between a Rock and a Hard Place
Brad Rock just dropped in to pay for his ad at my office in Silverlake. While I wish he was dropping his pants instead of his payment, it's all good in the hood. *wink*
He kealt down next to my desk before I had the chance to say, "Grab a chair." so I had to let him know what I was thinking, "Not that I usually mind cute boys kneeling at my side, but grab that chair over there."
...at least my wet dreams will be refueled for a month.
YEA!
Of course when he was in front of me and I was doing the transaction on my computer, I was like, "Nice to meet you Mr. Rock." when inside, I was like, "OH MY GOODNESS, that is THE Brad Rock, he is so hot, OMG! OMG! I can't believe he is right here!" and then I reminded the fifth-grader in my head to settle down, this is a professional establishment I am running here.
Okay, so there is part of the job here in LA I will miss.
*wink*
"I can't believe Brad Rock was just here..."
Top or Bottom
I said, "No honey, you can be either."
Then she said, "Do they charge more if you are one or the other? I mean, are there nights when guys have to say things like, "Damn. I am going to have to go with a bottom tonight, I just can't afford a top."
I know she was just kidding, but thanks for giving me something to blog, honey! *wink*
Whatever Happened To...?
ENGLIGH LESSON: The Interrobang or Interabang
interrobang / interabang
[n. in-TAIR-uh-bang]
When someone shouts with alarm and asks a question at the same time,
the exclamation could end with an interrobang. It's a punctuation
mark that combines a question mark with an exclamation point: "You did
WHAT?!" (We can't show it to you here, because there's no standard
letter code for it, but you can see it at the web page linked below.)
The interrobang was invented by Martin K. Specter in 1962. The first
part of the word, interro-, is short for interrogation point, which is
another name for a question mark. An interrogation is a questioning,
from the Latin inter- (in the presence of) and -rogare (to ask).
The second part, -bang, was originally a printer's slang word for an
exclamation point. That word has now migrated into the world of
computers, where it has been joined by dot (period [.]), squiggle
(tilde [~]) and hat (caret [^]).
Now we have a cool word for the day! *wink*
ENGLISH LESSON: Dangling Participles
In fact it is only a problem with a modifier. ...and I don't want to even say "problem" because I like to use them to my advantage.
A participle is a word that looks like a verb, but it functions as an adjective: (...and we know looks can be deciving, right?!)
He was a loving husband, but he could not fix the broken chair.
When a participle is part of a phrase at the beginning of a sentence, we expect the phrase to describe the subject of the sentence:
Walking down Congress Street, Smedley saw a pink Cadillac.
" Walking down Congress Street" describes Smedley.
It tells what he was doing when he saw the pink Cadillac.
Let's change that sentence slightly and see what happens:
Walking down Congress Street, a pink Cadillac was seen.
Since we expect " walking down Congress Street" to describe the subject of the sentence, it sounds as though a pink Cadillac is walking down the street.
Obviously that is not what was intended.
The participle " walking down Congress Street" is called dangling because the word it is supposed to describe (Smedley) is not in the sentence at all.
Dangling participles create unintended ludicrous effects: (...that's what I love!)
- Rushing out the door, his keys were forgotten. (His keys were not rushing out the door.)
- Spending money like a drunken sailor, his fortune was soon gone. (His fortune was not spending money; he was.)

NEWS: "New Orleans is Sinking"
New Orleans Is Sinking
NEW ORLEANS, Nov. 20, 2005
(CBS) For 300 years, the sea has been closing in on New Orleans. As the coastal erosion continues, it is estimated the city will be off shore in 90 years. Even in good weather, New Orleans is sinking. As the city begins what is likely to be the biggest demolition project in U.S. history, the question is, can we or should we put New Orleans back together again?
Life has been returning to high and dry land on Bourbon Street, but to find the monumental challenge facing the city you have to visit neighborhoods you have never heard of. On Lizardi Street, 60 Minutes took a walk with the men in charge of finishing what Katrina started.
Correspondent Scott Pelley reports.
Before Katrina, “There would be noise and activity and families and people, and children, and, you know, I haven’t seen a child in a month here,” says Greg Meffert, a city official who, with his colleague Mike Centineo, is trying to figure out how much of the city will have to be demolished.
Meffert, who is in charge of city planning, says it is “very possible” up to 50,000 houses will have to be bulldozed. Right now, most of the homes in the city are uninhabitable.
Meffert faces a difficult task. Every time he goes to a house site here, he says, “It’s one more knife in me that says, ‘She did another one. She did another one,’” explains Meffert, “she” meaning Hurricane Katrina.
When you walk through these neighborhoods and you see the houses, you get a sense of the pain of the individual families. But you don’t get a sense of what has happened to the city of New Orleans itself.
It is estimated that there were 200,000 homes in New Orleans, and 120,000 of them were damaged by the flood.
The part of the city known as the lower Ninth Ward received some of the heaviest flooding. The houses are splintered block after block after block, almost as if the city had been carpet-bombed in war.
Meffert says that before the storm, New Orleans had a population of 470,000-480,000 people. Realistically, he thinks that half of those residents won’t be coming back.
The possessions of thousands of families, the stuff collected over lifetimes is suddenly garbage, clawed up into mountains in city parks. With so much gone already, should New Orleans pick up right where it was?
“We should be thinking about a gradual pullout of New Orleans, and starting to rebuild people’s homes, businesses and industry in places that can last more than 80 years,” says Tim Kusky, a professor of earth sciences at St. Louis University and a flood control expert.
Kusky talks about a withdrawal of the city and explains that coastal erosion was thrown into fast forward by Katrina. He says by 2095, the coastline will pass the city and New Orleans will be what he calls a “fish bowl.”
“Because New Orleans is going to be 15 to 18 feet below sea level, sitting off the coast of North America surrounded by a 50- to 100-foot-tall levee system to protect the city,” explains Kusky.
He says the city will be completely surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico just 90 years from now.
Since this story aired on Nov. 20, there has been considerable discussion about whether New Orleans really is sinking, including on CBS News’ blog, Public Eye.
“That’s the projection, because we are losing land on the Mississippi Delta at a rate of 25 to 30 square miles per year. That’s two acres per hour that are sinking below sea level,” says Kusky.
That process could only be slowed, in theory, by massive restoration of wetlands. In the meantime, while Kusky’s advice is to head for the hills, some New Orleans residents are hoping to head home.
(CBS)
Vera Fulton has lived most of her 81 years on Lizardi Street and returned to her home recently for the first time since being evacuated.
“When they say ‘storm,’ I leave. I can’t swim and I can’t drink it. So what I do, I leave,” says Vera, who has lost her home to two hurricanes.
Vera is intent on coming back. “I don’t have no other home, where I’m going?”
Three generations of Fultons, Vera’s son Irvin Jr., his wife Gay and their son Irvin, 3rd, live around Lizardi Street.
Irvin says his house is “just flat” and he didn’t have insurance.
That’s the dilemma. The only thing they have left is land prone to disaster. They want to rebuild, and the city plans to let them.
At Vera’s house, Mike Centenio, the city’s top building official, told 60 Minutes homes can go up as long as they meet what is called the “100-year flood level.”
The federal government had set a flood-level, but didn’t figure on a levee failure that would flood parts of the city.
The official level is several feet off the ground. If people meet the requirement, they can rebuild their homes, despite the fact that we saw, for example, a refrigerator lifted to the top of a carport by the floodwaters.
Asked whether allowing people to rebuild makes sense, Centenio says it is “going to take some studying.”
Right now, he says the flood level requirement is the law.
Twelve weeks after the storm hit, no one has an answer to where people should go. An estimated 80,000 homes had no insurance, and for now, the biggest grant a family can get from the federal government is $26,200.
Those without flood insurance face an uncertain road ahead, trying to piece their lives and homes back together.
“I don’t think any of us get to be made whole. I don’t know of anybody that’s even getting back to where they were. It’s just a matter of how much you lost,” says Meffert.
No one wants to risk more losses until the levees are fixed but there is not a lot of confidence in that. There’s evidence some of the levee walls may have failed from bad design or lousy workmanship.
Fixing them is up to Colonel Richard Wagenaar, who told 60 Minutes, that by next summer, the levees will withstand a Category 3 storm. But for a Category 5 storm, Congress would have to double the levee height to 30 feet.
Col. Wagenaar says building a 30-foot flood control system around the city could take five to ten years, and cost billions of dollars.
Asked whether he would live in New Orleans if the levees were restored to pre-Katrina levels, Col. Wagenaar said he would, after a long pause.
“There's a lot of long pauses in things I think about these days,” Wagenaar added.
(CBS)
Another thing that gives you pause is the fact that one of the world’s largest pumping systems can’t keep the city dry with broken levees.
60 Minutes was there in September during Hurricane Rita. Crews were fighting with everything they had, cooling a pump with a hose and a coat hanger. When the station flooded during Katrina, Gerald Tilton dove under water to open valves.
Since then, Tilton and his men have been living at the station. “Most of us, our homes have been destroyed but a large number of us are still here doing the job that we get paid to do,” says Tilton.
Tilton says he hasn’t seen his home since the storm hit and only took one thing from the house when he left: his diploma. “I graduated from Tulane last year and that was the one thing that I wanted. I know it might sound crazy.”
But sharp minds and heroism couldn’t stop a second flood.
It took another two weeks to dry out and count the losses. Now, inspectors with laptops are identifying ruined houses.
“Every house in New Orleans is loaded into this database,” explains Centineo. The reports are sent instantly to a computer at city hall, where the database is linked to aerial images of every address, both before and after.
When the reports are in, they will know how many billions it will take to rebuild, but not where that money is coming from.
Mike Centineo showed us, at his house, that you can’t appreciate the loss until you walk through the door. He lost pretty much everything in his home. “We’ve lost a lot. What hurts is family photos. They went under water and I pulled them out to try to salvage what I could,” Centineo says.
Centineo says he understands, probably better than any building official ever has, what the victims of Katrina are going through. “I’m one of them, that’s true, I’m one of them.”
He is one of about 400,000 people still unable to come home. That’s the worst part now, the deflation of the Big Easy.
There are too few people to pay taxes or keep businesses going. The world’s largest domed stadium doesn’t have a football team; In New Orleans, these days, not even the Saints go marching in.
Meffert has some clear feelings on whether the nation should commit billions of dollars and several years to protect the city.
“Is it commit or invest? I mean this is the thing that that people miss. The country has to decide whether it really is what we tell the world what we are. Or are we just saying that? Because if we are that powerful, if we are that focused, if we are that committed to all of our citizens, then there is no decision to make. Of course you rebuild it,” says Meffert.

HUMOR: Farmer Logic
My dad sent me this joke:(...yes my "father", not my "Daddy".) *wink*
Two West Texas farmers, Jim and Bob, are sitting at their favorite bar, drinking beer.
Jim turns to Bob and says, "You know, I'm tired of going through life without an education. Tomorrow, I think I'll go to the Community College and signup for some classes."Thanks, Dad!
Bob thinks that's a good idea, and the two leave.
The next day Jim goes to the college and meets the dean of
admissions, who signs him up for four classes: math, English, history, and logic.
"Logic?" Jim says, "What's that?"
The dean says, "I'll show you. Do you own a weed-eater?"
"Yeah."
"Then logically because you own a weed-eater, you must have a yard."
"That's true, I do have a yard."
"I'm not done," the dean says.
"Because you have a yard, you must have a house."
"Yes, I do have a house."
"And because you have a house, you probably have a family."
"I have a family."
"I'm not done yet. Because you have a family, then logically you must have a wife."
"Yes, I do have a wife."
"And because you have a wife, then you must be a heterosexual."
"I am a heterosexual. That's amazing. You were able to find out all of that
because I have a weed-eater."
Excited to take the class now, Jim shakes the dean's hand and leaves to
meet Bob at the bar.
He tells Bob about his classes, how he is signed up for math, English, history and logic.
"Logic?" Bob says, "What's that?"
Jim says, "I'll show you. Do you have a weed-eater?"
"No."
"Then you're gay."

Sex sells, baby!
Hotels Entertain Porn
By: Kathee Brewer

CHATSWORTH, Calif. - If all pay-per-view entertainment available in the U.S. is lumped together, sex comes second — after first-run movies but before concerts and sporting events. According to entertainment industry analyst Dennis McAlpine, a partner in McAlpine Associates, the “buy rate” for in-home pay-per-view adult entertainment delivered via cable or satellite is between 5 percent and 10 percent. The buy rate goes up as the content becomes more explicit, topping out at about 20 percent. (Ironically, one of the largest providers of in-home adult entertainment is Direct TV, which is owned by Rupert Murdock’s News Corp. News Corp. also owns conservative Fox News.)In hotel rooms, however, the buy rate skyrockets to as much as 50 percent, according to recent estimates. McAlpine said although that represents only 5 to 10 percent of any hotel chain’s bottom line (but as much as 70 percent of in-room profits), erotic entertainment is still a significant revenue generator because it requires no investment on the hotel’s part. Under contracts with LodgeNet and On Command, the two largest purveyors of on-demand in-room entertainment, hotels receive a percentage of each pay-per-view purchase.
Hotels were among the first publicly traded corporations to profit from porn, although shareholders won’t find exact figures in their annual statements. Sex and other on-demand fare typically are lumped together under the heading “pay-per-view revenues.” Partially, that’s for reasons of convenience, but it’s also so corporate executives don’t have to field angry calls from conservative shareholders who, while they want to see their investments grow, don’t necessarily want it bandied about publicly that they profit from — or even worse, support — something as embarrassing as sexually explicit content.
Hilton Hotels, Marriott International, Sheraton and Holiday Inn are among the largest hotel chains to offer explicit in-room entertainment. Until 2000, Corpus Christi, Tex.-based Omni Hotels was among the illustrious brotherhood of sex purveyors, too. That year, however, responding to what it perceived as “a growing need for corporate America to support pro-family issues," Omni struck a deal with LodgeNet under which adult channels would be stricken from the rooms at all 80 Omni-owned and managed properties. The move cost the company an estimated $1.8 million per year, according to president Jim Caldwell. Omni claims to have recouped the losses by selling more family oriented entertainment.
Despite increasing pressure from conservative groups like Cincinnati-based Citizens for Community Values — which in 2003 contributed to the removal of pay-per-view porn from a group of hotels in Ohio and Kentucky under threat of prosecution for “pandering obscenity” — representatives of other large hotel chains remain firmly committed to the decision to let pay-per-view porn remain on guests’ menus. Most say they respect guests’ ability to choose for themselves what kind of entertainment is appropriate for them. Some go so far as to say their guests demand erotic viewing options, and to drop them would cause not only a plunge in pay-per-view revenues, but also a decline in customer loyalty.
That view is not universal. When it comes to hotel erotica, the so-called “prudish” U.S. may be pulling ahead of some European countries typically seen as more liberal. Many of Sweden’s hotels became porn-free in April, after the government agency that controls where military members, civil servants and politicians may stay blacklisted all properties that offered in-room adult entertainment, effectively canceling the demand except in properties that cater primarily to foreign tourists. The Netherlands outlawed hotel porn in 2003, and since 2004, unionized hotel staff in Norway have been engaged in a campaign to convince their government to adopt a similar policy. Most recently, Northern Ireland has begun to consider outlawing in-room porn after an assemblyman made that goal part of his personal crusade against “the normalization of pornography in the British Isles.” Dr. Esmond Birnie points to potential “dangerous working conditions for hotel staff,” not the “immorality” of erotic entertainment, as his major concern about the issue, alluding to sexual harassment of female employees and unsanitary conditions in the rooms as direct results of adult entertainment.

So you are watching one of your favorite movies like Pretty Woman and you notice when:
"The morning after Vivian's first night at the hotel, room service brings breakfast. She is eating a croissant in one shot, in the next it's a pancake, and the pancake goes from being half done to being a whole pancake again."or maybe you were watching Batman and Robin and you see the place where:
"In one scene where our heroes are defrosting Gotham city using the sunlight, we see Commissioner Gordon stepping from his car which has been covered in flexible icicles."It's fun to see where things go a little crazy in Hollywood.
Look up your favorite movie and see how many you caught.
...then check out the some of these the BEST MISTAKES:
(...how could I miss some of these?)
| Charlie's Angels | When the Angels are fighting the "Creepy Thin Man," right before Drew Barrymore lifts up Lucy Liu to spin her around and kick the thin man, to get Lucy's attention, Drew hollers out "Lucy!" even though Lucy Liu's character's name is "Alex." |
| Titanic | The lake that Jack told Rose he went ice fishing on when she was threatening to jump is Lake Wissota, a man-made lake in Wisconsin near Chippewa Falls (where Jack grew up). The lake was only filled with water in 1918 when a power company built a dam on the Chippewa River, six years after the Titanic sank |

Moving Pictures
I saw the movie "Rent" and the movie "Jarhead" this weekend.
I know, two movies in one weekend...
...what is the world coming to?
I put my ADD on hold to sit that long, huh?
*wink*
I don't know, but I can't handle any more emotion brought to me through the big screen.
Nope.
No more.
Frankly, it amazes me that a cinematic feature can fuck me up like that.
I saw "Jarhead" with the amazing Bobby Thompson and Andy at the world-famous Mann's Chineese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard.
I saw "Rent" with David at The Grove in a slightly more "yuppie" area of Los Angeles.
I have reviews on the way of both, but I wanted to let you know before I am able to finish the reviews that I saw them.
I reccommed them both, but in doses, the emotion is no doubt - ALOT!
I find it funny that in days past, you heard movies called, "Moving Pictures" because they were literally moving on the screen in front of you. People had not seen such technology before.
I call this entry "Moving Pictures" because of the emptional movement the flicks produce in the viewer.
...moving on...
Nip/Tuck Update

I caught up on the remaining "Nip/Tuck" episodes I missed.
I watched three in a row like it was a mini-movie, thanks to David and the TiVo.
...he even slipped the commercials for me. (Although I like to see who advertises during it, that impresses me.)
That show is amazing to me, they tackle things other shows won't.
Matt and Ava's incestuous relationship, transsexuality, were just the beginning.
Now in these episodes I saw things like Matt's new "girlfriend" and he Arian race supremacy thoughts, Quentin's cocaine addiction, Kimber running away from the wedding and leaving Christian at the altar and even the only time I have head the doctor's say, "Tell me what you DO like about yourself," rather than, "Tell me what you don't like about yourself." (I don't remember who or what situation it was this time, but I remember thinking, "That's not what they are supposed to say.")
The part I liked best in the three episodes I watched was when Christan and Sean were at the cake tasting for Kimber and Christian's wedding and the lady who was serving the cakes at the tasting made a comment about what a cute couple they were.
She did not know that it was not them, and that Sean was just standing in for Kimber because she was too busy.
It sums up a majority of the show I think.
Sean and Christian are not gay, but are a heterosexual soulmate example.
They don't have to be gay to be as close as they are.
I think the show does a GREAT example of showing the ups and downs and truth to the relationship they have. (...and most people have with someone.)
I think Kimber's character is based in part on Jenna Jameson. *wink*

Ben's Boys and Blunders
My friend Ben always sends me funny e-mails and/or photos of HOT boys!*wink*
Here is the collection I had built up in my inbox over the last month or so...
(click the image to make it bigger.)
He usually sends me funny stories too.
Here are a few that also built up in my inbox...
I walked into a hair salon with my husband and three kids in tow and I asked loudly, "How much do you charge for a shampoo and a blow job?" I turned around and walked back out and never went back. My husband didn't say a word...he knew better.
I was at the golf store comparing different kinds of golf balls.? I was
unhappy with the women's type I had been using. After browsing for
several minutes, I was approached by one of the good-looking gentlemen who
works at the store. He asked if he could help me.
Without thinking,? I looked at him and said, "I think I like playing
with men's balls."
My sister and I were at the mall and passed by a store that sold avariety of candy and nuts. As we were looking at the display case, the boy behind the counter asked if we needed any help. I replied, "No, I'm just looking at your nuts." My sister started to laugh hysterically. The boy grinned, and I turned beet-red and walked away. To this day, my sister has never let me forget. While in line at the bank one afternoon, my toddler decided to
release some pent-up energy and ran amok. I was finally able to grab hold of
her after receiving looks of disgust and annoyance from other patrons. I
told her that if she did not start behaving "right now" she would be
punished. To my horror, she looked me in the eye and said in a voice just as
threatening, "If you don't let me go right now, I will tell Grandma
that I saw you kissing Daddy's pee-pee last night!"
The silence was deafening after this enlightening exchange.
Even the tellers stopped what they were doing. I mustered up the last
of my dignity and walked out of the bank with my daughter in tow.
The last thing I heard when the door closed behind me, were screams of
laughter.Have you ever asked your child a question too many times?
My three-year-old son had a lot of problems with potty training and
was on him constantly. One day we stopped at Taco Bell for a quick lunch in
between errands. It was very busy, with a full dining room. While
enjoying my taco, I smelled something funny, so of course I checked my
seven-month-old daughter, and she was clean. Then realized that Danny
had not asked to go potty in awhile, so I asked him if he needed to go,
and he said "No". I kept thinking "Oh Lord, that child has had an accident,
and I don't have any clothes with me." Then I said, "Danny, are you SURE you
didn't have an accident?
"No," he replied. I just KNEW that he must have had an accident,
because the smell was getting worse. Soooooo, I asked one more time,
"Danny,did you have an accident?"
This time he jumped up, yanked down his pants, bent over and spread
his cheeks and yelled "SEE MOM, IT'S JUST FARTS!!" While 30 people nearly choked to death on their tacos laughing, he calmly pulled up his pants and sat down. An old couple made me feel better by thanking me for the best laugh they'd ever had! This had most of the state of Michigan laughing for 2 days and a very
embarrassed female news anchor who will, in the future, likely think
before she speaks. What happens when you predict snow but don't get any... a
true story...
We had a female news anchor that, the day after it was supposed to have
snowed and didn't, turned to the weatherman and asked: "So Bob,where's
that 8 inches you promised me last night?" Not only did HE have to
leave the set, but half the crew did too they were laughing so hard!

Giving Thanks
I did not know what to do with Thanksgiving. (I mean besides give thanks and eat.)
Lisa took off for the holiday, which she never does. I feel guily that I would not be with her.
Andy and I kinda planned to go to his parents. He used leveraging powers and said, "If you go to my parents for Thanksgiving, maybe I will go to your house for Christmas." What kind of leveraging is that? *wink* (I don't expect him to give up that time he could be his family for anything.)
Regardless, I am going to pretend I am on the Mayflower and make a pilgrimage to Los Angeles. (Hopefully without the scurvy threat.)

Arabian Night
I decided I was going to go boy scouting.
Tonights locale: The Sahara Casino.
I gambled at the SNL branded slot machine and was up in my winnings, then down, then up again, but never below what I originally put in.
I didn't even see that many cute boys until I went over to the NASCAR area, there were some hot ones, finally.

GVR
I am at Green Valley Ranch, made popular by the television show "American Casino".
As I slid down the grand staircase on the railing, (how classy huh?) to the hotel bar "The Whiskey", I thought how absolutely intrigued I am by the hotel industry.
This hotel is beautiful, I want a living room that looks like this.
My friend Brad loves it, he is such a mess. He wants to Ninya, the hotel manager. H-E-L-L-O, she works during the day, hot stuff.

Lady Luck
Who says that luck is a lady?
I wanrt it to be a gay man.
I put $6.00 in a nickel machine, gave Lisa two dollars and pressed two buttons and won $31.00. (Note to self: Hexbreaker machine)
I don't really don't even know what I pressed.
I thought that was good, so I went to cash out.
$33.00 from a $6.00 "investment" - that's hot.
I walked ten paces and put the ticket into a quarter machine and did something else and won 100 quarters within something like ten button touches.
Now my $6.00 is in the form of a $65.00 ticket that I am quite satisfied with.
I am dizzy from following Lisa around the friggin' casino.

SECOND: Thank goodness for this sign, or I would not have known where I was... *wink*
THIRD: (...not Reich.) Brandon and my army helmet, or wait, is this the helmet they would not let me out of the house if I didn't put on?

Weekend Update
(..since I am late and all.)

There were a couple that were BEAUTIFUL.
All of them were new and frankly, I don't know where all this money comes from.
We did not decide on any but will see more this week.
I went to breakfast with Wes from GetBooked here in Vegas and then immediately headed to lunch with Ryan Smith and Bill Huggins.
Ryan, Bill, Tom and I dined at the quintessential Commander's Palace of New Orleans in Las Vegas. (...at the Aladdin) I had some amazing soups and some martini while Tom and Bill talked about German history. Just being in Germany, I found some of it interesting, but more of my martini and watching Ryan on his Treo pretending to be interested in what they were talking about, made my meal satisfying! *wink*
One word for this meal - EXPENSIVE!
Bill is a cool character, I think I admire him. He heads up all of the operations at Krave. Since were holding the HustlaBall at that venue, we had a couple of meeting with him.
We had a quick snack and also met the Head Chef, Ernie at the Las Vegas Hamburger Mary's too. He was very nice as we discussed the catering for HustlaBall.
The owner of the current nightclub called Gipsy (Paul) is opening a club right next door called 8 1/2 and a club called Piranna. (Named so because of the slated overhead tanks of Piranna's in the club. NOT the bitchy gay men going in as well...)
We met with Brandon (...the entertainment director who left, came back, left and is now unofficially back.) who bolted from an earlier run in at the QVegas headquarters.
Brandon played the winged messenger and told us that his new venues would not be done in time.
8 1/2 and Piranna are actually one venue with two names located in the "Fruit Loop" of Vegas on Paradise Avenue (..at least I think it is an avenue.) right next to Paul's other venture Gipsy.
Neither of the venues (8 1/2 or Piranna) will be done without a pact with the devil.
Tom and I walked through the construction debris and while it looks like it will be a hot space, space is all it is now.
...back to the drawing board for the HustlaBall afterparty.
We sat in Earl's office for hours and after seeing all his gay "pink" accoutrements (like his oversized pink desk calculator with gems and the buttons!) and the QVegas signature purple, it's a wonder I wasn't seeing stars.
Mark was also there and he is always fun to deal with.
Earl cracks me up. He's a trip! (I've got the baggage!)
There were lots of other Las Vegas celebs there I got me meet like Delisco, (the winner of the E! reality show "The Entertainer" with Wayne Newton) Tony and Tina's Larry Atello and some guy I think I missed what he did named Seth or something.
I also saw Jeff (my Las Vegas newsboy friend, who is adorable) and Lee. (...more of Las Vegas's real estate elite) New York friends Andre and Steve and a few others that I recognized but could not place. "Hey guys!" *waves with my gayest hand and says quietly "Who was that?!"*
I also saw Rico (my escort friend from Las Vegas) who bought me a martini and was looking SHARP!
Tom and I were joined by his friends Lavert and Vince. Lavert is Celiene Dion's principal dancer and is by her side on stage. He has a BEAUTIFUL body.
We hung out in the VIP cabana and partied into the night, I think I left about 3:30am or something.
...is paved with well, pavement. (...and I seem to drive it a couple times a week.)Saturday we (Tom and I) drove from Las Vegas to Los Angeles to make sure we partied at the Cybersocket WebMaster event.
I am glad we did.
We arrived in time to meet up with most people including Jeremy Spencer and Ross Cannon of Adonis Pictures. I missed Morgan but saw Tim - the dynamic duo behind Cybersocket Magazine. I saw Karl of BedFellow, Chad Beecher of AVN and met some hot Canadian boy from BrainCash among the LA web powers that be.
Tom and I debated if we would stay with David (...since he pays for it anyway.) but I tried desperately to sway him from doing it since I knew Andy was there with his trick and it would only make me more sad.
SUCCESSS! We checked into the San Vicente Inn at like 4:00am and went to our suite. TACKY! TACKY! TACKY and more TACKY! ...but fun. We went in the hot tub, steam room and pool and finally at some hour, I crashed in the bed and let Tom continue his romp at the Inn.
...yes, I know you are wondering what this photo is of, it's in the steam room at the San Vicente Inn. What you can't see is RentBoy Jeff Rockford with quite the following at his feet. *wink*
My Saturday evening had fun and satisfaction that would not be matched anywhere else.
One of my favorite clients came in from out of town and we went to his hotel and headed to Spago for dinner.
One word for this dining deal - MORE EXPENSIVE!
I loved getting dressed up a bit. I hardly wear anything other than jeans anyway, so my closet was glad to see me sift through the mass to wear some black slacks.
We went to Wolfgang Puck's Los Angeles favorite and I had some veal winderschnitzel with lemon potatoes and Arugala lettuce salad that made my palette so happy!
We had drinks and conversation that I can't begin to express how wonderful it was. I didn't want it to end. I have some wonderful clients, but this client is in a class all by himself. (...and it's not my sepcial ed class!) Speaking as "Spoiled Brandon" now, he decked me out with an Abercrombie gift certificate, some new sunglasses and some trademark Abercrombie moose boxers. I can't get dressed on a normal day and not thank him for part of the outfit. "Today's outfit brought to you by..." *wink* It's not just the gifts, but the time I am with people that matter to me and help me like him, that I can not thank ANYONE enough for!
What a GREAT time, (...not to mention expensive.) Saturday was!
I headed into some HOT hotels this weekend.
Here, I will tell you about it - get it, "hoe" "tell"? *woka, woka*
One of the appointments was in my favorite hotel, Ceaser's. It was in one of the older towers, so the ceiling had mirrors over it like old-school Vegas did. HOT! Hooray for old-school Vegas.
Another was at the new Wynn. Boy they did a good job there and yes, the rooms are as nice as you hear. I was glad to see this client too, he had a brken bone, and no, it was not in his pants. Poor thing. It means alot that he still made time for me when he was in Vegas.
Yet another was out a bit at Lake Las Vegas, but well worth the trip just for me to get a fascination satisfaction. I have always been fascinated with hotels, but this one was unbelievable. I went out to the Lake Las Vegas area for the first time. It is all new and this room was a top-level suite at one of the more famous resorts that after I found in the twisting and turning on the Lake Las Vegas roads, understand the high-end class Las Vegas floats. An interesting situation happened here too though. I do not see to many "new" people. I am fortunate enough to have a regular client base that I love and have relationships with. Occassionally, I do see a new person, but I have all the standard "new meeting procedures" that I have to observe. I would not take a condom and lube to the first appointment, why that would imply that I planned on having sex and we know I am compensated only for time. This time we decided, as consentual adults, that is what we woudl do during our time, but I had no condom. I had to run down to the hotel gift shop in the hoitey-toighty hotel and pocket the item as I ran back up to the room. When I first meet someone, I rarely carry more then my ID and maybe my cell phone. (I have one cell phone that only has one phone number stored in it that I use when I am cautious. I would not carry my BlackBerry into a first time meeting.)
Okay, that's enough for this weekend update with Jimmy Fallon, wait, I mean Brandon Baker. After digesting all this and then dinner, I am thankful I have these opportunities, I mean, I would not have these opportunities if I did not do what I do.
Late on Rent
...what's new right? *wink*I somehow procured some media passes to see the sneak preview of the new movie "RENT" at the Palms. (Procured means I drugged my media friend who had them at his house when I was visiting and then beat up his boyfriend so I could run out of the door with them!)
The actual movie does not come out until December, but the preview for the reviewing press was last night at the Palms.
I had a tough call to make, but I was with a client at the time that ran a bit over, so I decided that I should stay with him rather than cut it short.
I am excited about the flick coming to a theater near me. (ESPECIALLY since I missed this preview with good reason...)
I saw the Broadway musical in New York and was so moved.
I mean, really. REALLY moved! (...and it wasn't the Mexican food we had beforehand!)
I listen to the highlights from the musical in the car all the time. Each song seems to be so special and mean so much.
...more about RENT when it is appropriate.

"Get the Glue Gun!"
When I was little, my mom could fix everything with the glue gun.I swear, things that should not have been fixed with the glue gun, she could.
It was unnatural, I tell you!
Nowadays, I wish I could do the same.
I would fix New Orleans with a glue gun.
I would fix relationship problems with a glue gun, heck, I would put Bob Villa to shame!
I am glad my mom showed me the power of that product.
I can just hear her say, "Get the glue gun!" as I held her out my broken Matchbox toy car.
I think maybe secretly, one time, in a bind, she even fixed dinner with that silly thing.
