Everything I Learned, I Learned from Batman and Robin

'The Penguin', 'The Riddler', 'Cat Woman' and 'The Joker' - just a few names of the villains of Batman and therefore Robin. There were more, just like everyone else, the villain list grows with time. My villain list is not very big.
Usually I'd have a sexy Robin entry for you, but not this time. I can't decide why I really wanted to post this entry. It was for one of two reasons. I truly don't know which one applies more.
a) I am really upset that people are so villainous.
-either that or-
b) I am close to adopting that attitude for a short time. I can claim insanity. It worked for all these guys.
Part of the reason I like Batman and Robin as characters is they did not kill people. When they caught a criminal, they went to Arkham Asylum in the comics. It's where the bad guys went. The pan out always was from the asylum. There was very rarely a gory end, it was just that the bad guys went to the Arkham. Occasionally one got out and wreaked havoc on the world, just like in real life. *wink* In real life, I am not on the level of killing enemies, but when someone does something I don't approve of, I just don't involve myself in it. I don't want to make it worse or incite more hostility.
I don't think bad thought about many people. Even if I did, I wouldn't say it.
I mean, there is good in everyone. They just need to go away until they figure out what it that they do well and then when they do figure it out, do more of it. It's hurt me a couple of times to overlook the ugly parts of people, but by far, I believe that I have realized much, much more by doing it. I think of a few people that I have had bad experiences and know from other people that they are in the same situations years later.

I have a way of thinking (...believe it or not, alot of it is thanks to Lisa and the time I spent with her at the hotel.) where I want to celebrate people's strength's and not focus on his or her weaknesses. She used to say about things like scheduling, "Just let me do it. You do what you are good at go sell something to someone, I'll take care of this." When I applied that I had people to work, when they were supposed to because she did the scheduling, and I had rooms sold from when did what I did best. Lesson learned.
Now I know that in order to grow you HAVE to realize what you are weak in and work on it to make it better, I am not denying that. Believe me, I need constructive criticism and value it. We all should. It's how we improve.
However, when people don't do something well, don't make them do it. Find someone who is good at it and make them a friend. ...or write them a check. Either way. On the other hand, when someone does something well, encourage them and use it to get the most out of it.
Rusty says, I need to not focus on what I can get from people all the time. I see that. I really do, but I keep seeing how I can help myself AND help someone else at the same time. It's getting cloudier for me now that I am trying to work on it. What's up with that? I know in my heart of hearts that I don't NEED to get something from everyone to be friends with them.
I don't want to get even with people. Revenge sucks. I don't like it.
IF that is what needs to happen, that's not my mortal position to decide. (...that sounded deeper than I meant it to, don't worry.) I don't believe in karma as a religion, but the idea that people get what's coming to them is certainly on my mind.
In Batman and Robin, Robin wanted revenge. He wanted to kill "Two-Face" for killing his parents in the circus. Robin getting revenge consumed him. It was all he thought about. It took Dick Grayson (Robin's real name. ...well one of them at least.) a long time to remove himself from the revenge hunt and be a true hero.
I also don't want to force my opinion on anyone. In fact, I foster people making their own choices more so than most. I do want to give people the most information I can so that they can make his or her decision with the best education. I don't want people to think like me. The world world would have all the clothes in the closet facing the same way, a lot of unreturned phone calls and be running low on blond hair dye.
I can't help but think though, for goodness sake, maybe there is a time to get revenge. Maybe I am missing that and that's why I am so upset. ARGH! *beats head on wall*
If you can't tell, I am trying to sorting this out in my head and it's not easy. Reality is not always as fun (...or hot.) as a comic book, I realize that. ...but doggone it, it know it can't be that difficult.
There was a book titled "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten" where everyday adult lessons are related to children's issues like sharing toys. I can rival that with "All I Really Need to Know I Learned from Batman and Robin. ...or Lisa." and have a hot seller. *wink*
Now, if I was a villain, who would I be? I checked this list of 'The Dynamic Duo's' villains and can think of a few I'd have fun with. What about you?
