"Is this guy for real?"

I don't normally listen to Angel Benton's voice posts, but last week, I did listen to two of them. However, I missed one that you have to listen to.
After listening to it now, it's hilarious. ...it might even be funnier when Angel tells it, but I assure you, it was fucking HILARIOUS when we heard it.
Angel said it, I second it, "Is this guy for real?"
You can read Angel's original post HERE.

I just heard that the curfew in New Orleans was lifted today and you can party again.
Yup, sure was.

I just received this funny text message from my friend.
There's a Big Hurricane concert going on near the Gulf! HANNA Montana, IKE Turner, and JOSEPHINE Baker. Sponsored by Getdafukout Ent. Tickets on sale at FEMA!
*hehe* I mean, not *hehe* at the storms, but the saying. You know what I mean.

Hurricane Gustav Photos

Here are some photos I took during the long but quick trip to New Orleans for Southern Decadence 2008 turned into the Hurricane Gustav party.

This was one of the hotels we stayed at, the St. Louis, when we arrived.

Here are a few images of the city while we were out and about before the hurricane.

Here an artist has people sign some board that he engraved. It was a colorful idea and turned out very neat. What a great idea.

Surprise, here's Rusty and I fighting at the New Orleans apartment.

Here are those photos that were amazing to me of an empty, and I mean, disturbingly empty, Bourbon Street. They are beautiful, but very disturbing to me.

This one that looks like an altar is at my parents house when the power was out and we were using the generator to keep the fridges going.

Here are some of the city and the boarding up and thoughts that made it onto boards with the voice of the city in spray paint. This shows most of the preparations of some of New Orleans staple business on Canal Street and in the French Quarter.

Finally, here are some of the aftermath as we drove to Houston, Texas to catch our planes and avoid road closures.

Hurricane Gustav Update

I am back in Los Angeles after a quick visit from Hurricane Gustav in New Orleans and the surrounding areas.

We ended up driving to Houston to catch a flight after stopping in Slidell and losing power and road closures.

I have some photos to put up. It was quite amazing and a totally new sight on Bourbon Street to see well, no one. I don't know how, but as Rusty, Angel and I walked down the street, we must have been some of the last people to leave the city. Next to the National Guard Hummers and a lone partier, there was NOONE on the street I am familiar with seeing PACKED with revelers.

As you can imagine getting back to the office has been a bit of a disaster as well. I think my desk is much more of a disaster than the city of New Orleans was. ...stay tuned as I catch up and struggle gain my own wind back.
