I don't only watch scary movies. I don't watch too much TV. Seriously, other than 'Nip/Tuck' I don't watch more than a few hours a month of TV. It's not 'cause I don't want to rot my brain or antyhing, I am fine with that, it's because I can't sit still that long.Last night, I watched "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" on the Disney Channel. I saw a hotel theme in the title of the show and thought I would tune in. It was cute.
I was in the mood for a show with a lesson that only
Disney could administer. In this episode there was one subplot where the Asian girl who is spoiled had to get a job and it was hard. Her friend who she made fun of was the one who helped her in the end. The other subplot was where Zack had a lesson at school and he did a report with some help from his black grandma. (?) When the teacher gave him a bad grade, he stood up for what he believed in and backed it up when he brought it up to the teacher. ...that's hot.I am okay with affirmative action and inclusion but man, Disney takes it to a new level. The have a token Asian, a black man as the hotel manager, and many other well cast roles to fulfill those political ideas. Kudos to them. I looked for a photo of the grandma because I think it was a male character dressing as a woman. Rusty said it's a woman. I need to know. I will keep my eyes out and see if anyone knows. Either way, she was my favorite character on the show.
Rusty said I would be the Asian girl - clueless, spoiled, etc.
