I think I found a little piece of heaven yesterday. I went to the Hostess Thrift Store in Glendale. It was FABULOUS!
I felt like I was in that show
"Supermarket Sweep."I went in there and just swooped cupcakes and pies, gummy fruit and Ho' Ho's, Ding Dongs, Twinkie Bites, 100 calorie "I don't know what they were's" and whatever looked fun and bad for me into a cart.
I was a pie madman. *wink*
When it was all said and done, I signed my $44.76 sales slip and headed out the door ready to gain more than just a smile.
I spent $44.76 with pies that are 5 for $1.00, and ummm... doughnuts that are a box for $1.25. Yeah...
I discovered "Zingers" which are raspberry iced cake with creamy filling. YUM!
Folks, this is the stuff my mom would have never put in my lunch box. ...but that I wished she did.
It's crazy this thrift store is all the items that are about to expire
(I mean, PLEASE, do twinkies ever really expire?) are out of production, etc. or whatever.
I have been to one or two before.
I remember we stopped at one on one of our trips and the 6-10 porn stars that were in the car on the trip filed out and came back out licking his lips.
I am not new to the store as a whole, but this one, yes.
...but a new friend it is. *wink*
Call me white trash, that's fine. I have been called much worse. *wink* I still can't get enough. YUM!
As I checked out, the counter lady told me, "I don't know if I'd be too happy if I was your mom."
If you need anything, I will be rocking back and forth in the corner of the kitchen eating my pies. *wink*
