While we were in Austin, TX this past weekend, we had dinner at a place that is an Absinthe Bar called Péché. (None of us drank any of the highly alcalcloic though, we had homemade gingerale and lemon-drop's made with Tito's.) (Isn't Tito's a way around the "No hard liquior" laws these days like Jinro?)Absinthe has only been legal again in the US recently. As far as I can tell, in 1912 they said no, then in 2007, they said yes again. ...sorta. (The wormword is what's fucking it up.)
I think the last time I had some in Amsterdam, I threw up.
Anyway, the venue we were dining at had a look and feel of pre-Prohibition style that was relly cool if you ask me. (...and since it's my blog, it's like asking me.)
...except this decoration they had on the top shelf. I don't think it would make Angel Benton very happy. It seems to be an imprisoned Tinkerbell-like fairy.
I guess she tried to sell some or did something very bad and was thrown in a cage on the top shelf. Who knows?
...all I do know is - "Watch out Pixie Hollow." *wink*
I thought it was kinda silly. (...or scary for some.)
