I am the first to admit that I have a hot job. I mean, it's fabulous, I know.
It's fun that part of my day every day is spent approving porn photos for the world wide web.
It's cool that I get to deal with the cutest boys on earth, oh yes.
It's wonderful that I get to go to the hottest parties on the planet and then make more of them, for sure.
...and don't take this as a complaint, it's more me ranting and venting, but it's one side of my job that is the "other side" of all that fabulousness.
Much of my day is spent on administration of the website.
(The New York office does 10 times what I do, but at about 5:00pm on the east coast when things are settling down in that office, the calls start going to my office on the other coast at 2:00pm.) You would think many of my calls are steamy and sexy, but not so much, the only steam comes from my head when I frustrated. In fact, most of my calls are dealing with billing and credit card authorization forms.
Add in how many of the hot boys that I deal with don't understand English and you can see how exciting that gets.
Given the nature of the industry, the boys often have someone else paying for his ad.
They give someone cash and get them to put it on their friends credit card, they have a pre-paid debit card (...smart.) or a whole gaggle of other reasons.
I understand that.
Not only that, but we expect it, that's why we have have provisions for it.
We generally totally know what to expect and me actually doing a little of it help me personally understand it more.

When an escort uses a third party (...or is it second party?) credit card, they have to fill out a credit card authorization form.
...that's all there is to it.
It's okay if it's his sisters credit card. Really.
It might be a little more complicated if it's your sisters, ex-boyfriend's mom postman, but hey, if I get the authorization and can verify it, it's cool.
I have heard everything, "It's the same except the last 8 numbers and the name and it's a different bank."
Ummmm... that's not the same then my dear.
I field several tens of these a day and explain that we can't bill someone else's card without something in writing or having permission.
Especially for this.
Usually, or with little fuss, it's over and we get the fax or email scan back shortly.
I mean, it's like me just saying that I can use your credit card for groceries this month. I am sure you believe me, right?
However, I get the occasional crazy and I think I kinda like it. *wink*
I had one today who has tried to open several new accounts and honey, that only makes it look worse. On a new account, we are even MORE careful and stringent.
I think at night, I may have a nightmare about a giant credit card authorization form with teeth coming after me. *wink*
