The Escort Edge

Creating a RentBoy.com ad can be tricky, I have an article in progress that will help boys create ads that work. I have enlisted the help of retail sales leaders, escorts, clients and a few people in between to see what they have to say.

A brief look at the idea comes from an ad that I approved today. Take a gander at THIS RentBoy.com ad. His text today reads:

Dean the college drop-out is available to really make your Las Vegas party Rock! IF you want a quality and intimate evening with your favorite straight guy that does very naughty things then give me a call. Check out my website at www.clubdean.com Or myspace me at www.myspace.com/clubdean

I've read about Dean on Jason Sechrest's website, but I gotta hand it to anyone who has marketing on his side and works his edge. I love that he works the "college drop out" edge. (Go ahead for making that an "edge." He turned a typically frowned upon subject and make it not only sexy, but also seductive.)
He's got the right idea to making a satisfying evening that seems like a treat to a client. You have to make it so it's worth the money, but also that it's not too farfetched. I am also glad to see him mention an "evening" rather than an hour. It encourages and already puts in the readers mind that a longer period of time is what's available here and what is what's up for negotiation.

I think when people have an main theme that they work with on sites like www.RentBoy.com, they will get better results.
Other focal ideas that I have seen or heard about that worked for escorts are:

• "I'm a straight college kid willing to cross the line to make money for school."
• "I work as a blue-collar handyman during the day so I have a hot body. I am available for side jobs at night."
• "I have the typical "Boy-Next-Door" image and are just what you fantasize about." (...that would include a very recent Brandon Baker.)
• "I am a visiting student that is in town for short time." (Usually a short a time in your text makes people think something like, "Oh I need to hire him now, he won't be here next week.")
• "I am a recognizable porn star." (Usually, porn stars can get about $50-$100 more per hour.)
  
• "I am a bossy, dominant top whose girlfriend does not know he escorts and I know what will make you squeal."
  
• "I'm a healthy, sexy jock sweating out college."
  
• "I'm a classy, motivated student who has the manners and knowledge to attend a theater event with a true gentlemen and wrap things up afterwards." (In that, please, use a tuxedo in your photo and not a harness, okay?)
  

Who knows, they may be the real thing, but I think having that main theme or idea helps the potential client relate to the escort.
I also think using a name that (...as I would say...) "...would appear in nature." helps relate to the escort. It's much easier to say, "Is Tommy Simms available?" when someone calls than, "Is Hottie4Watersports24 available?" Know what I mean, jellybean?

This is only a bit of the article, I will incorporate much more, but I thought this ad today was a good example.
