Sunday night we did the
Universal Studios Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights (Damn, that's a mouthful.) Basically, it's the Universal Studios theme park turned into a haunted house.
I wanted to do this particular Sunday night because I thought the lines would be less, it wasn't TOO much of Halloween yet in most people's minds and it would help kick off our own. It was all my friend Bert's idea though, I can't take credit for the idea. Thanks, Bert!
It was really scary. ...then again, I get petrified at Unsolved Mysteries.
First we all ate dinner and had drinks at
Camacho's Cantina at Universal
CityWalk. ...not my favorite place. Next time, I think we will try something different. I like
Bucco Di Peppo's too. My "personal assistant" Jeff took us all by surprise and took care of dinner. I don't know how all of 11 of us ate for under $319.00, that makes it about $29.00 per person, which is not bad at all. Thanks, Jeff!
Plus, that place was fun because I told the waiter that it was Jason
Sechrest's birthday. *

Okay, so when you make eye contact with the ghouls, you're fucked. Two or three times, they chased me incessantly. One time with a
freakin' chainsaw in between my legs. It was half
theatrical for me and exciting, (I love big scenes, if you didn't know.) and half because I literally could not get away from them. ...and when one started picking on you, they all did. In the one photo above near the
exhilarating '
Revenge of the Mummy' ride and '
Jarassic Park River Adventure", I made eye contact with this
ghoulie that I thought was kinda hot. ...BIG MISTAKE. Within a few seconds, three of them were after me and I had to run to when I could not run anymore. It was kinda fun, but scary too.
In this photo where the girl is next to me, or facing me, we were in the set where parts of "
Notting Hill" was filmed and for Halloween it was "The Dark Streets of London" and this young lady came within inches of my face and said in a high voice, "I don't believe you are in the Army." and proceeded to stay within inches of my face the entire time I was in her "zone". Now her face makeup was making me thing her face was slipping off the bones and I just
wanted to get away.
There was also one area called, "Revenge of the Pigs" where the parks information leaflet reads, "Gangs of pig-faced maniacs are
roaming the lower lot, looking for fresh meat."
Ummm, that's some parties I have been to, so I don't want to hear it. Here you can see that they were a little different looking, and they started to chase me too.
AHHHHHHH! "Pretend like you don't know and don't care. They won't be able to get you that way"
One of my favorite things is that you can take the "Terror Tram" and walk through the sets like, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and "Psycho" at the Bates Motel and actually walk on the sets. That was really fun. ...and really scary. I totally liked the set from "War of the Worlds" where the plane crash is all around you. The movies and the stuff that makes them is AMAZING to me.
They also had some plugs for the new Universal movie called "
The Strangers" which worked because now I want to go see that.
Parts of the park are not open, but some are. ...and they sure make lots of exceptions with decorating for Halloween. They even did up the Jurassic Park ride with special gory decorations.
(I always like the Micky Mouse ears floating in the water though.)We also were able to do the new
"Simpson's Ride" which was fun and was the old '
Back to the Future" ride. I like how they re-develop the same ride technology into new ones.

the ancient Egyptian ride was formerly the E.T. ride.
(Thanks to Tex for these photos and that information.)We did three of the four mazes as well leaving out the 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre" because the wait was just under an hour. We did the 'Nightmare on Elm Street' one, the 'House of Horrors' one and the 'Friday the 13
th' one. Can you believe I have not ever even seen one of those movies all the way through. I think the Jason one interests me the most. I saw a hot boy in the one of the camp beds that Jason was stabbing and now I want to see the rest of the movie.

It's been a little harder to find pictures from Halloween than I thought.
I saw Jason Sechrest twice and he didn't even recognize me and walked right by both times. (His costume looked amazing as well.) 
I have one Halloween costume that I found at a random thrift store in New Orleans that is some coveralls with the Royal Mail emblem on them. ...it's like a worker overall thing going on. I can't help but wonder how it ended up there.
Interestingly enough, it's not the only one though in the United Kingdom, they have a few including the GPO or General Post Office. It's similar to UPS or FedEx here, but not really, it's more like different versions of the USPS.
It looks like you can catch us at Here! Bar on Halloween night. I am actually a bit scared of it, I am not joking.
...at this point, I was planning on thinking of an excuse not to stay in West Hollywood and go out in crowded West Hollywood. ...yea, that's didn't work too well for me.
It's going to be a rough next day too, because we are scheduled to be in Palm Springs for Palm Springs Pride beginning on the 1st day of November. We have a party that night that I have dancers booked for, so it's not like we can skip it. YIKE!
