Rusty used food coloring to color the vodka we had in for this weekend at White Party.
It was like "Pride" vodka. *wink*

Energy Drinks

I have some fun energy drinks in the fridge waiting for me today.

I like the new Red Bull Cola.
Of course, the standard Red Bull is still a treat too.
I tried a new energy drink that I got from Wes at GetBooked in Las Vegas when I saw him yesterday. It's called "Graffiti" and is actually pretty good. It's kind of berry fruity (...as opposed to very fruity. *hehe*) and refreshing. Check out www.urbanliquids.com to find out more about that drink.
...there are so many energy drinks out there, it's really starting to get saturated and drive me up a wall.

I was recently at the XBiz offices in Los Angeles and saw they had a branded drink called XBuzz, that made me laugh. COOL.

Shakers - Iced Tea and Ice Cream

One of my favorite things to drink is iced tea and vanilla ice cream.
I usually can only get it at Sonic, they are one of the few places that does not freak out when I order it. (Parks and I used to talk about their beverage program. It's one the best I think.) Most places are like, "Ummmm, we can't do that." and rather than argue, I usually just say, "Whatever." They are like Bon Qui-Qui and want to say, "You can have a coke."

Lisa found this neat product at the grocery store that is pictured to the right and give me just what I like. (I like it when that happens.) *wink*
It suggests that you pour milk into and with the "Cookies and Cream" flavor, I generally do, but with the vanilla, I just put in other things like iced tea. It's like a creamy iced tea that's a frozen treat. (...and I don't have to worry about a confused server looking at me weird.)

Basically, it's a extra frozen ice cream (...or heck it could be an ice cream flavored chemical for all I know.) that you pour in your selected beverage and it makes a yummy shake. COOL!

Green Machine Drink

I like this "Green Machine" drink from Naked Juice, but it does feel like I should be making sounds like a goat drinking it out on the front lawn. It certainly looks like I am drinking blended grass.

A website lists the contents as; apple and pear juice blend, pineapple juice, mango puree, kiwifruit puree, banana puree with powdered sirulina, chorella, brocolli, green tea extrac, spinach, barley grass, wheat grass, blue green algae, exchinacea purpurea extract, odorless garlic.

It has the boost of broccoli. ...in a drink. Whoa.

That's a whole lotta green stuff. I like green stuff when it's money too.

It doesn't taste "baaaaaaaad." *wink*

Avacado Shake

When we were in San Francisco Sunday, we had breakfast at a diner with M&M (Mark and Mike) from GayChicago Magazine.
It was a rainy cold morning, but beautiful nonetheless and with great company.
After breakfast we drove back home to Los Angeles.
While we were at breakfast with no one named Tiffany, we saw a sign on the wall that said, "Avacado or Mocha Shake."
...that's a new flavor if you ask me.
Avacado?
If you have every had one, let me know what you think 'cause I don't want to knock it until I try it.

Millions of Milkshakes

There is this new and fun place in Los Angeles where the Mrs. Fields used to be in West Hollywood. (Sorry, girl, you have been replaced. The boys are after different cookies now.) It would be fierce and awful, not awfully fierce, if the place offered Mrs. Fields cookies in the shakes. *hehe*

It's called "Millions of Milkshakes" and while you can find it's literal home on San Vicente and Santa Monica at the gay Mecca, the online home can be found at www.millionsofmilkshakes.com.

If you are are familiar with Pinkberry, it's like Pinkberry on a colorful, sugar rush. (If you are not familiar with Pinkberry, pull yourself together. Where have you been?)

I have been to visit M.O.M. a few times and enjoyed it each time.
One time I went with Howard and we came out with more than just a milkshake. He had a hot new model that somehow ended up with a porn name that reminded me alot of my legal name. *wink*
Another time, I took the boys who were helping me set up at [CockBlock] a shake made to personal order. YUM!

I feel particularly indulgent when I leave the pink palace of frosty goodness and enjoy the thick, big and colorful straws and inordinate choices I have in making my milkshake concoction. (My dad likes milkshakes, he would get a kick out of this place.)

Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray probably didn't have to achy-breaky anything but the crowd when they tried her own namesake drink. (They have several celebrity named shake flavors to choose from if you can't make up your own damn mind.) Paris has done it, so I mean, really, you should too. Right? *wink*
So, drink up and enjoy it if you are out an about in West Hollywood.

Mint Lemonade

I had a yummy treat from a place right near my New York office today that was fairly unique and quite refreshing. I went to a place called "Pita Joe" and had a chicken schnitzel pita that was pretty bland. It was okay. However, the mint lemonade was a different story.
I am in a iced tea mood though today, so everything pales in comparison to a nice cup of cool, refreshing, black tea with a slight sweetness and a flavor that makes me exctied like blackberry pomegranate.

Kiwi Pear Snapple

I tried the 'kiwi pear' flavor today and it was good. It wasn't stellar, but it was good.

It tastes like flavored water.

On the other hand, what the fuck is a noni berry? ...it sounds like a little piece of snot that is hanging off your nose when you are done blowing your nose.
Goji punch? ...it sounds like a kung-fu move.

Either way, I leave that to the gatherers. *wink*

Red Bull Cola vs. Pepsi Max

I saw a print ad for Diet Pepsi Max (www.WakeUpPeople.com) after hearing about it from some friends.

However, it does not intrigue me as much as Red Bull Cola does. I saw ads on taxi's in Las Vegas this past weekend and want to find it now in stores.
I like the taste of cola, and love the energy of Red Bull, so how cool is that?

I asked awhile back and was a little dismayed to not know myself, but what exactly is cola? Where does it come from? ...a root?

Despite the name, the primary flavoring ingredients in a cola drink are sugar, citrus oils (orange, lime, or lemon fruit peel), cinnamon, vanilla, and an acidic flavorant^[2]. Slurpees at Brandon Baker's

I bid on a "Slurpee" Machine on EBay and sure did win.

...for less then Rusty's makes in an hour or that I spend on sponsoring a odd party in West Hollywood, we are going to have fantastic, frozen drinks at Brandon Baker's apartment all the time.
I was like, "No more going out to 7-11 at crazy hours to get the newest and most fun flavor. (I like the monthly crazy flavors and promotions they have these days.)

• I am working out some details on shipping now because that's going to be the hard part. (...and possibly the most expensive part.) I may make a quick trip to Virgina Beach here soon.
• I had thought about getting one before and had CoolTom look into prices online this past weekend. He found some for as much as $800.00. I was like, "...that's nothing" compared to as much as I spend at Tigerheat on any given Thursday on drinking and turning myself into a mess." I mean really.
• Repairs might be a problem, but we can deal with that when we get there. Anyone know a Slurpee connection here? *wink*
  
• Power, as Fuckin' Travis mentioned, is going to be an issue too, but these don't need to be on all the time. I mean the kind that you plug into the wall, Batman.
  
• This particular brand was the most popular equipment at 7-11 until they did a recent upgrade.

I think of it like a pet. I have some expenses of maintaining one and then I have the main part of getting it. If it gets sick and breaks, I have to schedule a doctor's appointment. *Heck, this might even be cheaper than a pet.*

Fleur-de-lis Restoration Ale

Abita Springs is a term that is familiar around New Orleans.
It's a city on the Northshore of the lake. It's a water company. It's a beer.
...and it's the latter company that has a “Fleur-de-lis Restoration Ale." ...a what?
It's no joke that drinking is not a joke in and around New Orleans. I mean, when we hear about a hurricane we think of a potent local drink concoction AND the storm. ...and we even mix them, usually before a hurricane storm, we board up the house and have a few of the other hurricane's at a hurricane party. (I am serious folks. Try to get some water at the grocery before a storm, you'll be in line for hours. Try and get some beer before a storm. Not a chance.)

The local brewers describe the ale as,

Fleur-de-lis Restoration Ale is made with English Pale, Lager, Crystal and Cara Pils malted barley. We liberally hopped and dry hopped our Ale with American Cascade and Centennial hops and fermented it with California Ale yeast. The result is a brilliant gold ale with a rich body, mild bitterness and a snappy fresh citrus hop flavor and aroma.

I used to occasionally like Abita Springs bottle called 'Purple Haze' but not that often. I loved raspberry beer. It's so gay huh?
When I worked at the Holiday Inn near Abita Springs, we used to give every Priority Club reservation check in Abita Root Beer and "Craw-taters" flavor Zapps Potato Chips.

Mountain Dew

I like Mountain Dew because it has lots of caffeine. Now it's amped up with ginseng. (...just what I need.)
In my opinion, Mountain Dew has always had an edge on ridiculous flavor variations - Do you recall "Blue Shock", "Code Red", "Live Wire", "Baja Blast" and even their version of an energy drink called "Amp"? I do.
Here are three new Mountain Dew flavors that are out. Only one will stay. The company is having an online vote for the flavors that will stay.
All of the flavors make me thing of a very juvenile taste that of cotton candy, overloaded sugar candy, or those powder things you used to stick a candy stick in and lick. I can' only handle them in doses. ...but it's fun. (...like alot of things in life.)

Aloe Vera

I am having this problem with my camera where it turns the power on but the shutter cover/automatic lens cap, whatever you want to call it, won't open so that's why this picture looks like this. I had to hold it open. ARGH!

Aloe Vera - it sounds like a drag queen that I want to see on a stage in a dry climate like Arizona. "...and please welcome to the stage, Miss Aloe Vera, for tonight only."
...and just for the record, for some odd reason, two people in the last seven days asked me if I have slept with a drag queen. My answer to both was, "Not today." I seem to recall some times in Austin, TX that were pretty hot with a drag queen. My memory does not fail me either when I had some out of control hot times in Ohio with some "Ladies of the Night."

...blah, blah, I might be adventrous with my drag queens in bed (I leave that in common with Jason Carter.) *wink* but, I am also pretty adventurous with drinks. I like to try new things. 80% of the time, I like it. The other 20% of the time, I spit it out. *hehe*

I am a sucker for new, fancy, creative marketing, packaged libations. It could be lizard piss and I still want to try it. ARGH! It's very distracting sometimes.

Recently, I am loving trying "world drinks." Two weeks ago, Angel, CoolTom and I found a crazy drink store at the Farmer's Market that has lots of drinks. Unfortunately, my first three choices, they were out of. Hey, it's a tough world market out there, I understand.

Today, I came across a green drink that seems to be a Korean drink with Aloe Vera plant pulp. (It does not not look that appetizing actually.)
This photo is of my Target brand aloe vera gel I am rubbing on my Universal Studios sunburn today and the other is the drink. (I sure hope I don't get confused.)
It's very sweet, (...like me.) and although I like orange juice pulp, this reminds me of the consistency of some watered down snot. The drink tastes almost like what I think the gel would taste like, but won't be finding out.

One says, "Cools & soothes skin" the other reads, "BIEN AGITER AVANT DE SERVIER" (Shake well before serving."

I read THIS blog to satisfy my thirst for new and fun drinks. It's what I picture Angel and I about other things. It's written by two guys who are fucking' HILARIOUS and incredibly entertaining.

Jones Candy Corn Soda

I was at Target the other day and I saw this on the shelves and briefly thought, and I do mean briefly thought, oh that's cool. Then I thought of what candy corn tastes like and immediately thought of how I don't want to drink that.
I like uniqueness and this is unique so it's worthy of a blog post, but I am not rushing out to grab it.

They also had a few other limited edition flavors such as 'Gruesome Grape', 'Lemon Drop Dead' (I'd like to serve that to a couple of people.) 'Spider Cider', and 'Berried Alive'. Cute, huh?

If you recall, they had that awful sounding "Turkey and Gravy" soda at Thanksgiving, so why not some new, ummmm... exciting flavors at Halloween too?
