New York in a Minute

I flew up to New York for a party tonight.
We are hosting a party at the new RentBoy loft on 5th Avenue with Michael Lucas, Lady Bunny and Michael Musto.
I will blog more when I can.
...the nearly naked bartenders Hunter James and Damn DiMarco just got here.

Channel 1 Buys Out All Worlds

This is big news - Channel 1 (Chi-Chi LaRue's Company) has bought out All Wolds Video.

Channel 1 Releasing Purchases All Worlds Video
Monday, April 24, 2006

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Channel 1 Releasing, home to Chi Chi LaRue, has acquired All Worlds Video, the legendary gay porn company founded in the 1980s by Rick Ford, aka Dirk Yates.

The acquisition gives Channel 1 full ownership of All Worlds’ prolific adult library.

LaRue, who began her career directing for All Worlds, has helmed some of the company’s biggest hits including the “Link” series, and is credited with discovering Joey Stefano, Alex Stone, Johnny Hazzard and Zak Spears.

The success and notoriety followed LaRue to Channel 1 due to the Rascal Video line. “Wrong Side of the Tracks” won the 2006 GAYVN award for Best Picture.

With its purchase of All Worlds, Channel 1 becomes the largest gay-owned and-operated adult entertainment company.

“Eight years ago when Chi Chi started with Channel 1, I saw how people thought it would be just a flash in the pan, but the company has grown into one of the major players in the industry,” All Worlds founder Yates said. “I am excited by the ideas they have, their skills in the ever changing technology of media delivery and their enthusiasm in continuing the work of so many creative people that have passed through our doors.”

Since its inception, All Worlds has won numerous awards for its lavish productions, including “The Seven Deadly Sins” series, “Kiss-Off,” “Playing With Fire” and “Desperate Husbands.”

“All Worlds was really one of the first major studios I worked for,” LaRue said. “With the help of Rick Ford I was able to produce some amazing movies for this company. He [Ford] created a genre of amateur video that has often been imitated, but not duplicated. Now I have the opportunity to ensure the enduring legacy of his great company.”

Ford will continue to make his imprint in future business endeavors by All Worlds, including continuing to produce his Dirk Yates video line. He also was honored in 2006 with the GAYVN Lifetime Achievement Award.

Brokeback Mountain

I broke down and bought Brokeback Mountain on DVD.

Boy of the Moment - "Fuck You!"

He's not my normal type of "Boy of the Moment" but man, this kid deserves some attention, damn it!
*wink*

Hard at Work - Nighttime in Phoenix

Here's me with my cocktail in my lap as I went to take off my clothes to get in the hot tub the other day.

Can you tell, I like these, "Hard at Work" photos I get to take everywhere of me. *hehe*

Boy of the Moment - Reaching

Did I blog this already?

This is how I feel sometimes.
...besides being a hot image, this says alot.

Hard at Work - Computer Shopping

You have no idea how hard it is to be me!
*wink*
Ummmm...
...not so much.

This is from when we went shopping for a new computer for the new new office last week or so when my boss was in town.

I sat and watched TV at the store like it was home.

HOT!

Boy of the Moment

Phoenix

WOW!
I don't think I have ever had so much Phoenix in my life.
Dean Phoenix's birthday party, the Phoenix trip overnight, the hot rental car in Phoenix. I just got over the Phoenix Forum this month.
What a coincidence.

Isn't the bird Phoenix when a new one rose up from the ashes?
Interesting?
...maybe not so much as depressing.

It's all good.

Dean Phoenix's Birthday

I went with Angel and Rusty to Dean Phoenix's birthday party at I-Candy in West Hollywood last night.
There were alot of people I knew from the industry there.

Angel was on the invite list.
...not me.
It was nice of him to think of me to go with him though.

I think I got a drunk voicemail from Rusty this morning.
Something about almost being run over.
I don't know which one of his admirer's he went home with, but when I talked to him this morning, he was still with him.
He had a surrounding of hot boys oggling over him last night.

I saw Andy for the first time in weeks.
I was very uncomfortable.
His new boyfriend is beautiful.
I know him from somewhere else.

As we were waiting for Angel to join us before the party, Rusty and I were eating at the French Market on Santa Monica.
I saw this cute boy come around the corner and I winked at him.
I thought, "I know him from somewhere."
Then he came and talked to us at the fence that faces the street we were sitting at.
Then I don't know if I wasn't paying attention or what, but Andy was there too.
I saw Eric (...his new boyfriend) put his arm around Andy and I about threw up. (...not cause either one of them is ugly or anything, I just was so uncomfortable for a moment.)
Andy said some stuff I did not even pay attention to.
I mean, I know he was talking, but all I was just hearing, "blah, blah, blahblah, blah."
I am so stupid.
Then Eric said, "Are you going to the party?" and I thought, "Not now since I see a card in your hand." but that's not what my mouth said.
I don't know what did come out of my mouth.
(...but as hot as Eric is I am sure he has alot of things going INTO his mouth.)
I don't know if it got so hot because Eric is so cute, Andy is so cute, the temperature of earth rose 3 degrees in .6 seconds or if maybe, just maybe I was a bit flustered. That could be it.
I am not even upset like I was when I first dealt with Omen, I am just truly over these feelings in myself that I can't get rid of.
Unfortunately, I did not want to be around Andy. I don't know how to handle the feelings I have and being around him only complicates them in myself.

I was truly appreciative that Angel thought of me to go to that party and I understand that it is silly not to want to be somewhere Andy is, but I hung out for awhile and I am not joking or just saying it when I say that I did have a good time.
...but I don't know what to do yet with the stupid feelings that I can't help.
I stayed for awhile and drank a dirty martini and tried to subdue dirty feelings, but they won and I politely told my dear Angel that I was leaving and tried not to make a scene.

I wanted to walk back to my Hollywood apartment so I walked an insane amount of the way home down Hollywood Blvd. or is that the Blvd. of Broken Dreams?
I dunno.
I think they are close to each other.
...either way, it was a nice walk home and I did get some fresh air.

I got home and went to open the door and saw that I still had Rusty's keys in my pocket.
I text messaged him and told him that Angel could drop him off or that I could come back and drop off the keys.
He wanted me to come back and give them to him.
Since I was the one with the keys, I drove back, handed him the keys and went home again.

I stayed up for a bit and layed on the new carpeting on my floor.
I VERY rarely can sit still like that.

Okay, so at this point, I am sure you are like, "Brandon Fucking Baker, why are you so freakin' dramatic."
"You need to get over this and not give it so much attention, it really is not even as much as you make it seem."
I know this.
I know this.
I know this.
...but for goodness sake, I really don't understand why I can't.

Okay, that's that and I am done for now.
This rant and rave has been brought to you by Brandon Baker.

Phoenix for Dinner

I am officially labeling myself as spoiled.
Not that I did not think I was before, but now, it's official.
*wink*

Not last night, but the night before last, which was Sunday night I went to Phoenix for dinner.
I was going to go back to LA that night, but my friend talked me into staying until Monday morning so we could lay out in the sun on Monday morning.
It was so nice.

So I went to Phoenix for dinner at PF Chengs at Arizona State University.
It was hot and there were so many cute boys.

I arrived at the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport at about 5:00pm and went to pick up a rental car.
I went all out and got a Mustang.
It was so hot.
...and best of all - it was free!
YEA!
(I had to pay like $7.00 in taxes I think.)
I am on my other computer, so I will add images when I get to the other one.
I wanted to drive around in circles. (Don't I all the time though?)

I met my friend and his friend and we ate up all the Asian food we could.
We had Mojitos to drink.
I think I counted 7 on the bar at one time between three of us.
We had a yummy new Sichuan dish that was called a "Flaming Red Wonton" (Usually, I am the most flaming thing around.)
Jonathan had Mu-Shu Pork or something.
Gary had salmon.
I had General Cho's Spicy Chicken.

We went back to Gary's house and we went in the hot tub and had some beer.
(...of course, I had Red Bull and Vodka too.)

Jonathan and I looked on www.MySpace.com at some hotties.
If I can remember them and blog them, you should too.
Instant boner material.

I woke up at like 10:00am on Monday and laid out in the beautiful Phoenix sun until about 11:30 and then headed back in the hot Mustang to the airport and caught a flight back to Los Angeles.

I went back to my apartment and then to the office to unpack all the stuff in my new office space. (...more on that in a separate blog.)

Yup.
"Spoiled. Party of one. Your table is now ready!"
"That's me!"

I can get used to this dinner and tanning in wherever I want thing.
Oh yes.

Lady Punch

I got this forwarded to me while I was in the office today.
I have not laughed so hard in so long.
...and from what - my own dumb viewing pleasure.
Man.

Great Idea

I had this great idea for the Grabby's.
(FYI - the Grabby's are one of the porn awards shows. They are held in Chicago each year during International Mr. Leather Weekend.)

*puts on business suit and tie*

Since I know that porn stars are my target market, I want to find out how to get more of them on our site.
I mean, the way that www.rentboy.com makes money is from paying escort advertisers, that is - new rentboys. I always need new rentboys. That's how the site generates revenue.

So, here's what I was thinking...
I was thinking that I needed to do my health insurance soon.
That made me think of when I was in Phoenix at the doctors office with Dustin Daniels a few weeks ago.
...which made me think of the People magazine I was reading in the waiting room.
...which made me think of the article I read about the gifts that Kodak sent the Emmy nominees. One of the gifts in the nominee giftbag was a personalized digital camera with the initials of the performer set in diamonds.
...which made me think, The Grabby's should have a performer giftbag.
If they don't, they will when I am done.
...which all translates into - I should do something special for the porn awards show performers like Kodak did and make our product get into the hands of the performers and stay there.

Not only will that get my brand name into the hands of my next advertisers, but it will make them feel very special.
It will also make the Grabby's stand out as a show because the performers will get something.

I had special metal keychains made with the RentBoy.com logo, and the tag line that everyone chuckles at, "Money can't buy you love, but the rest is negotiable."
I will give each performer at the Grabby's one with a postcard that read something like, "The Grabby's and RentBoy.com congratulate you on your award nomination. Here is a special gift and two free months on RentBoy.com."

I thought keychains were good because frankly what do most porn stars have in their hand every day besides their dick and maybe a few dollar bills?
Answer: their keys.

Score one for Brandon!

"Run Down, I'm Up"

It's the middle of the night and I can't sleep.
(...so now I am no what's run down, it's a run down of a list.)
I laid there and tried and tried, but it just isn't working.
It's not anxiety, it's not drugs (...tonight.) and it's not noise.
I dunno.
I did not even go out tonight.

What I did do though was, I had a nice dinner with a mutual client and Tommy Ritter out in the Venice area of Los Angeles.
That was fun and so was the time afterwards.

I got up and did laundry, formed a corporation, (...well LLC to be exact), paid a parking ticket online and had a Mike's Hard Lime drink to name a few of the random things I just accomplished.

I went shopping earlier today for more stuff for my apartment.
I got a CD Player that I wanted so I don't tie up one of the laptops.
I also went grocery shopping. I haven't done that in a long time. I got some yogurt, some yummy lime chicken I had at my mom's once and some other fun stuff like pop-tarts and granola bars to snack on when I am home.

(Oh my goodness, I hear birds singing.)

...back to folding laundry.

Boys of the Moment

Camp Palm Springs

Rusty and I went to Palm Springs again last night.
Rusty had to do some paperwork in Palm Springs so after we caught up with a few details in Los Angeles we drove out to Palm Springs.

We stayed at one of the gay resorts called Camp Palm Springs. (http://www.camp-palm-springs.com) It wasn't too expensive, but the room we had was really tacky.
The guy at the front desk was really cute. Rusty recognized him him from a hook-up site called www.adam4adam.com.
We checked at a few of the other resorts located in the really "cruis-y" part of town, but they were all sold out. ...on a Thursday night. It seems we got the last gay room in Palm Springs. *wink*

We are going to stop at the Outlet Mall on the way back.

We are going to head back to LA and I will head into my office.
Today is the day I have to pack up my office because we are getting a new layout and cubicles by Monday. It's going to be very different.

I have all new stuff these days, new un-boyfriends, (...not as close as Andy, but I won't be doing that for awhile.) new offices, new apartment, new money. *wink* and now is going to be a new car.
What's up with all this?

Chinese Happiness

This is the Chinese symbol for "Happiness".

I had a yummy Chinese lunch with my friend today at a new restaurant.
He always searches and puts effort into picking good places.

I always enjoy his company.

I thought that this symbol would sum up my wonderful lunch just swell.

Boy of the Moment

He can rebel against me anytime! *wink*

Peter Rauhofer Music

One of the DJ's we work with in New York for RentBoy events is Peter Rauhofer.
He has mixed songs for the like of Madonna, Cher and more.
I think he does really good work and I enjoy listening to his music.

Plus one of his agents is hot and really nice!
*wink*

Today, he sent me a few new CD's and I listened to them in the office.
You can listen to the main track on the I love New York on the site at http://www.star69records.com
Even though you won't catch me singing that phrase, it was cool to hear what he's up to. (...and know I am on the comp list for his CD's.)
*jumps up and down*

Boy of a Few Moments - Sean Brosnan

Whoa.
How did I not know about this boy?

I remember seeing his dad, Pierce Brosnan in a James Bond movie I think on a plane.
This is his son, Sean Brosnan.
DAMN!

This BOY OF THE MOMENT is going to be for a few moments as I catch up on e-mail and work in the office.

Let's Play Ketchup

WOW! I am so behind not only in my blog, but in my e-mail too.
My inbox is at 784.

This is not an excuse, but rather explanation - I am rushing my little body to answer all the e-mails, catch up on my blog, finish moving in, keep up my work load and plan a few more events in Boston and the upcoming pride parades as quickly as I can.

My theory is that if you took the time to send me an e-mail, I should give it the time and consideration it deserves, so as I answer each e-mail, please be patient. I am not ignoring you, I swear.

I let White Party, moving in and playing take over.
YIKE!
This situation proves that I really can't afford to do that.
I need to catch up first, then make a plan to stay caught up.

Boy of the Moment

I love the OhLaLaParis blog. (www.ohlalaparis.com)
It is one of my favorite sites.

This BOY OF THE MOMENT comes from that site. (...and hopes you check out www.ohlalaparis.com)

Manual Labor

See, I really do do manual labor.
(...not really, 'cause I just posed for these photos so I could say that.)

Rusty and Christopher put together most of the stuff in my new apartment.
I am sure I would have an upside down or one-legged chair it were not for those two.

The only thing that I put together is this set of drawers for my closet and under the desk.

I do alot of thing in just my underwear or less.
Now that I am in my own apartment, I am naked most of the time.

APARTment Photos

I still have alot going on with my apartment, but I got parts of it, (...get it aPARTment.) settled so I at least look like I have things together.

Here's my bar area looking into the kitchen.

Here's my bathroom.

Here's my new bed setup.

Here's my little office area and desk. I like this area. (...and you know I spend alot of time at (...and underneath) my desk.)

Here's Rusty computing on the floor in what will be the dining area or living room with a couch, I don't know yet. I still have to get more furniture, but there's not really that much room, so I have to decide how to best use the space.

I LOVE living in Hollywood and the old movie area that I am in is so cool. Yesterday, I had to park down the street in another parking area because they were filming a movie in the street next to my parking garage entrance.

Second White Party Shots

These images I took with my camera at some point in the hotel room.

Rusty, Easter Bunny-like escort Scott Adler, Brandon and Bobby Williams ham it up Saturday night.

Scott Adler and Cameron take it easy on the same chair.

Bobby G. Williams attacks Scott Adler.

Scott Adler and Brandon Baker pretend like we like each other since this image can be used as evidence. *wink* (Just kidding, I think he's cool. errr.... hot? I dunno.)

My Rusty, Angel Benton and Brandon Baker head out leaving my red boa behind on the armoire.

Military Ball Ad

Here's the first copy of the ad we have for Military Ball in Chicago over Memorial Day weekend.
We (RentBoy) is presenting with Channel 1 Releasing and Chi-Chi LaRue.

First White Party Shots

Here are a few of the first White Party images from my friend Blaine.

Rusty, Tommy Ritter, Christopher and Blaine at breakfast in Sepia tone. (Hey, it's better than the tone most boys had this morning.)

Brandon, Tommy, Corbin Michaels (I think.) at the actual White Party event.

Brian Rush, Rusty and Brandon (Yes, his shirt does say medic, but he's a friend, he was not working on me! *wink*)

Add-age

I have not blogged.
Therefore I am not.
Right?
If the modified old adage stands true, "I [blah, blah] therefore I am." then I am not whatever it is.

I am sorry I am behind on blogging.

This past week or so has been so busy and such an event filled time, I just can't fit the time that I know I want to devote to my blog.
I don't know where the time is hiding, but it seems whenever I look for it, it's hidden better then the best Easter Egg that you never find until mid-year.

I will try, that is try, to catch up today, tonight and tomorrow.
Stay tuned and have fun trying to understand it all.
*wink*

Crime in Slidell

My mom said crime in Slidell (...a suburb of New Orleans.) is getting worse.
I said, "Of course it is. As people move of out New Orleans and try to establish themselves elsewhere, it's only natural."
All of the crime that WAS in New Orleans had to go SOMEWHERE.
She said, "I think it was all drug related."
I said, "I have done my fair share of drugs, and they really do crazy things when you let them get out of control."

Boy of the Moment

All I have to say is, "Whoa."

A Lighter Car. Darker Parking Lot.

There was an advertiser in my office paying for his ad and his phone rang. He picked it up and said, "Oh my God." and ran out of the door. He came back in and said, "That was close." (If I had a quarter for everytime I heard that."

I guess there was a high speed chase and it ended right outside my office in the parking lot. The car smashed into the light pole on the corner and fell into the parking spot where I sometimes park. It missed one of the other guys trucks by a few feet. (It also means that it just missed him getting a new truck by a few feet.) *wink*

It's crazy to think that if I had parked in that spot that I could have walked out the car when I was done with work and seen a light post in my car. Through no fault of my own, I would have had an insurance claim. I mean, seriously, you can never be too careful. You. Can't. Be. Too. Careful. Ever.

ADD Compliance

This afternoon and the situations in it are so ADD Compliant. (I love saying that.)

I am in my office trying to catch up on tons of loose ends. (...And no I don't mean my own!)
I have three prides to finalize. I am planning having a parade entry in Las Vegas, San Diego and Los Angeles. RentBoy will also be represented in New York, but thank goodness, Tom plans that one. New York Pride is a doosie!
I just finished two more promotional parties for RentBoy in Denver, Colorado and two in the Northeast in Boston and Providence, Rhode Island.
I am trying to catch up on e-mail in the office and get an e-mail blast out about White Party in Palm Springs this weekend. I have a HOT e-mail blast for all the RentBoy's with lots of HOT information that they don't want to miss.
White Party plans are nearing completion with some interviews on Q-TV and our very own RentBoy go-go boys at the parties a go-go-ing. Christopher and Tommy are going to shake up more then thier asses!
I move tomorrow and have a bunch of things to do before one of my bosses comes into town for some dinner meetings with the porn powerhouses in Los Angeles.
So you see, my mind is kinda going in a few directions...

I had total intentions of blogging each thing on the 'Blog Checklist' that I made that is sitting right next to me on my desk. I got two of them crossed out. I have 11 more that I have specific items to blog that I will try to get to tonight.

What makes this all better is that my office is above a church. Yes, that is NO strech of the truth. They have been playing incessant Spanish band music that now I can't help but laugh. I am not above listening to any music, wait - literally I am sitting higher in altitude than the music they are playing. *hehehe* ...and how funny is that? - the porn office is above a church. Nice.

There is No Color Missing - Trust Me!

Rusty, Brandon Baker and Chad of www.ChadKnowsLaw.com at the GayVN Awards AfterParty at The Abbey.
The photo might be black and white but I meant it when I said there was no color missing here. *wink*

Hollywood Living

I never would have imagined.
I don't know that I really even wanted.
...but know I am so excited.

I got my new apartment.
YEA!
FINALLY, huh?

After quite awhile looking at about 17 apartments all over the Los Angeles area, the one that I wanted the most, is the place I can now call home.

These two images are of the interior.

The area is the BEST, it's old Hollywood right near Mann's Chinese Theater and right off of Hollywood Blvd.

It's not very big at all, but since I am going to live myself, it's just enough space.
I love the storage and way they designed the arch and desk, it's not usual. (...like alot of things I do, huh?)
It is a bit more expensive than I had wanted, but I can handle it.

It has a cool pool area too.
...so now I am not only swimming in debt, but a luxuri
ous pool too.

I move in this week, of course, one of the busiest weeks I have had, but MAN! is this going to be FABULOUS!
