TAG Directory Marketing
I picked these ads out of the T.A.G. Directory because I thought they were cool.- I like the New Orleans one of course.
- The one in the New York, New York ad guy is HOT! HOT! HOT!
- Does that Travelocity one really say "water sport?" I love it.
- I like the 'Express' because they play on their own brand.
- The Wingate Inn guy is GORGEOUS. Does that really say "hooked?" FIERCE!
Mary Kay and Cars
It's part of the "Mary Kay" beauty program for the top performing sales consultants to have a branded pink Cadillac to drive in.- CLICK HERE for more from Wikipedia on the car story which I find FAST-INATING.
- HERE is one sales consultants blog and what she has to say about it.
- HERE is another on a site called www.pinktruth.com.
- ...and CLICK HERE for the Mary Kay official website program for the "career car" under "Wheels of Fortune"
I found THIS really intersting article on colors and branding and cars as well. I say, "RIGHT ON!"
I also found out that John Hertz was the one who gets alot of credit for the yellow in yellow taxis because it was the easiest to spot according to a college study. MORE
In the United States, the 2006 vehicle choice consisted of a Pontiac Vibe, Pontiac Grand Prix or a Cadillac. A Mary Kay director that qualifies for a car may choose from a Cadillac DTS, a Cadillac CTS, or a Cadillac SRX. In 2007 the offered cars were Saturn Vue, Pontiac G6, Pontiac Vibe, Cadillac CTS, and Saturn Aura. MORE
Now Mary Kay's son heads her company. If you ask me, she looks like a fierce drag queen in this photo.
I heard from my dear Lisa that she heard somewhere that Mary Kay has more cars out then Hertz. I don't know about that and didn't find a quick answer, but man, it sure peaked my pink interest.
I read today that there are over 10,000 of the cars out there and that owners sign that they can't resell it.
...and for the hell of it, see more Mary Kay car images HERE.

Kwik-E-Mart 7-11 Stores

In a what I think is BRILLIANT advertising and promotions, 7-11 turned 12 stores into the fictional, cartoon, "Kwick E Mart" in TV's "The Simpsons".They themed everything in the stores like it was in the cartoon and basically "converted" the standard 7-11 into what it would be like on the cartoon.
Fucking FIERCE!
I am going to ask Angel Benton if we can go there this week and check it out.
The best set of photos I found on the internet that show the Burbank store on the corner of Olive & Verdugo are HERE.
Other U.S. Kwik-E-Mart locations are in New York City; Chicago; Dallas; Burbank, Calif.; Los Angeles; Henderson, Nev.; Orlando, Fla.; Mountain View, Calif.; Seattle; and Bladensburg, Md.The idea of that corporate conversion is fascinating to me.

Candy or Drugs?
Rusty and I went to Target in West Hollywood last night....being the impulsive buyer that I am, I got some mints while I was standing in line at the checkout because the packaging looked cool.
All I have to say now is, "Uh-oh."
When I got home, I opened it up and was like, "What the hell?" It seriously looked like the container was full of drugs.
I looked around and thought, "What's going on?" and then I remembered hearing about this in the news.
I did a quick search and found many of the same story (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22827806/) which reminded me, "...that's what they talking about. Wow, they were not joking."
Hershey stopped making them, but are selling the ones they made. Good deal for manufacturer Hershey if you ask me.I hope I don't get pulled over with these. What am I supposed to say, "Officer, just try one, it's really not drugs." Good gracious.
How the hell did someone not catch this before during product testing or marketing. It's great to think the company has no drug users or at least someone who is aware of what they look like, I mean, for real, now I thi have some crackheads in the marketing department.

"It's Time for Another Beer."
I like marketing.I mean, I enjoy learning about it. I like to know how consumers are affected through everyday things. I think it's actually more consumer behavior and marketing that truly intrigue me.
One thing that I think is so cool that has happened recently is that Coors Brewing Company released a new label.
...a new the label changes color when the beer inside gets warm.
...which would indicate that a waiter should be asking about bringing a new one around to the imbiber and leads to another cold one on the bill. (...and ultimately means the waiter will probably get more of a tip as a percentage, so it's all working here, you see!?)
The color of the label has an influencing factor on how satisfied the end consumer is with his service and ultimately has a value too that may add up as service personnel are able to judge when to serve another from across the room.
I am glad I don't change color when I am feeling particularly cold or even especially hot. *wink*
You can read more about the label and the press it's getting in these articles.
