Site of the Moment - www.SecondLife.com

Have you heard of www.SecondLife.com?

(As if I am not having enough problems living my first one. I can see where a second chance would be alluring.)

The website describes it as:
Second Life® is a 3-D virtual world created by its Residents. Since opening to the public in 2003, it has grown explosively and today is inhabited by millions of Residents from around the globe.
  • From the moment you enter the World you'll discover a vast digital continent, teeming with people, entertainment, experiences and opportunity. Once you've explored a bit, perhaps you'll find a perfect parcel of land to build your house or business.
  • You'll also be surrounded by the Creations of your fellow Residents. Because Residents retain intellectual property rights in their digital creations, they can buy, sell and trade with other Residents.
  • The Marketplace currently supports millions of US dollars in monthly transactions. This commerce is handled with the inworld unit of trade, the Linden™ dollar, which can be converted to US dollars at several thriving online Linden dollar exchanges.
I say, "It's a way to live like you want to online, but can't or won't in real life."

Someone in my office sent me a screen capture of this idea that is a projection on the side of a wall at a bathhouse type establishment.
I love the idea.

The idea is cool.
I would have to call it "Third Life" because I live as Brandon Baker, as well as my legal name now. Even though my two lives merge more so than most, it's fun, fascinating and man, this company took this additional life just a bit further online.
It's amazing how serious and intricate it is.
The concept amazes me.

Many companies like churches, stores, developments, etc, the list goes on and on, have a "second life."
Frankly, I think it's like MySpace on crack.

When I say, "Can you imagine?" I need to also say, "Get ready for what can happen."
