Lady GaGa - Just Dance

This is such a catchy song, I like it.
I think many other people will too when she performs at the White Party Las Vegas on Columbus Day weekend.

...but that weekend is also the HustlaBall New York, so the people on the other coast will be listening to 'The Ones' at the HustlaBall. (They get their own post later on.)

Mary Kay and Cars

It's part of the "Mary Kay" beauty program for the top performing sales consultants to have a branded pink Cadillac to drive in.
  • CLICK HERE for more from Wikipedia on the car story which I find FAST-INATING.
  • HERE is one sales consultants blog and what she has to say about it.
  • HERE is another on a site called www.pinktruth.com.
  • ...and CLICK HERE for the Mary Kay official website program for the "career car" under "Wheels of Fortune"
Personally, I think it's one of the best marketing ideas of all time. (It sure makes me want to sell the stuff if I knew I would get to drive a pearl-ized pink Cadillac.)

I found
THIS really intersting article on colors and branding and cars as well. I say, "RIGHT ON!"
I also found out that John Hertz was the one who gets alot of credit for the yellow in yellow taxis because it was the easiest to spot according to a college study. MORE

In the United States, the 2006 vehicle choice consisted of a Pontiac Vibe, Pontiac Grand Prix or a Cadillac. A Mary Kay director that qualifies for a car may choose from a Cadillac DTS, a Cadillac CTS, or a Cadillac SRX. In 2007 the offered cars were Saturn Vue, Pontiac G6, Pontiac Vibe, Cadillac CTS, and Saturn Aura. MORE
Now Mary Kay's son heads her company.
If you ask me, she looks like a fierce drag queen in this photo.

I heard from my dear Lisa that she heard somewhere that Mary Kay has more cars out then Hertz. I don't know about that and didn't find a quick answer, but man, it sure peaked my pink interest.
I read today that there are over 10,000 of the cars out there and that owners sign that they can't resell it.

...and for the hell of it, see more Mary Kay car images HERE.
FIERCE!

Iko Iko - The Dixie Cups

This is a very New Orleans song that is usually played around Mardi Gras. You know when you hear this song on the radio in New Orleans it's Carnival time in the Big Easy.

This song is short compared to the average song length of approximately 3 minutes and 20 seconds and you can tell, but I like a short song here and there. It seems in my own gay culture, we hear extended remix versions often. *wink*

Cyndi Lauper did this song too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wI4Pdkix7oY (How strange because I blogged another of her song versions earlier.)

Read about the song at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iko_Iko. I have heard that it's about two of the flambeau's at Mardi Gras (...the guys at the head of the Mardi Gras parade who lighted torches used to illuminate floats in New Orleans.) but that's not the entire case.

In any case, I enjoy the song and it makes me think of the colorful part of New Orleans and the Mardi Gras parades.

Paul Oakenfold Ft. Pharrell Williams - Sex 'N' Money

I was walking through my office and one of the guys had on a song that I thought was hot. I interrupted him and asked him what song it was. Imagine my shock when I heard the name of the song. I mean, for real now, what are the chances of that?
Here is the video for the song as I found it on YouTube.

"I'm in Love with a Rentboy"

Sean from the New York office sent me this link and album with the word "rentboy" in it.
I like the artwork.

Read the blog HERE and download the song HERE.

Downtown

I like this song too, it makes me want to go downtown and stroll down in a bustling busy area of black and white shopping and glamor. (I felt I had to put the original song in the embedded video for homage sake.)

Emma Bunton (Spice Girls) sung it as well. You can see her rendition HERE.

...BUT THE BEST IS THIS REMIX OF THE SONG. I AM ALL ABOUT A REMIX WITH SOME ENERGY, SO THIS MUSIC VIDEO MADE MY DAY EVEN MORE.
I wanted to swirl downtown and spin around in the streets with this fierce beat in my iPod!

We Are One Song

I heard a version of this song on DisneyMania 5 (...or 10 or 18.5, I don't remember which number.) when I was listening to it tonight and I loved it.
The lyrics are HERE.
